Something I find quite annoying about the “it was my childhood!” argument being made by people who continue to engage with Rowling’s work is that it ignores the many, many trans people who were fans of Harry Potter as children until the author decided to advocate for our eradication. I was one.

I'm sad that #NaNoWriMo is shutting down. I was very vocal about their wholesale embrace of AI (to the extent that I boycotted last year) and think they'd have had a lot more support had they not done that - but I'm still sad about it. I've been taking part since the late 90s. (1/2)
