It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence. They are in charge.

Hell yeah

The media uses the possibility his brain is mush to avoid calling him a liar and the fact that he’s a liar to avoid saying his brain is mush. The effect is that they write up neither of the 2 possibilities, dramatically helping Trump.

Let’s make a deck of cards called Direct Strategies and they’re all like “Hit it with a hammer.”

There's been a tendency over the past 15 years to cast judgement on this country's present by claiming it is strongly discontinuous with its past, even its recent past. It's rhetorically useful, but it's made us extremely stupid.

I would like to remind everyone that the outcome of the events laid out below was the president going to The Hague.

Honestly hope that parade in DC is completely shut down by protestors.

Sure. Why not?

The institutional fixes only work if you're willing to use them. You can stand and watch a fire burn with a fire extinguisher in your hand. At some point you have to make the choice to act.

No Kings. This Saturday. www.nokings.org

My strong instinct is that Trump's threats against Americans' first amendment right to peaceably assemble is going to massively juice attendance at Saturday's protests. www.nokings.org

The mainstream/centrist punditocracy seems to exist in an alternate universe around discussing protests where 1) BLM happened while Joe Biden was President and 2) it resulted in an electoral wipeout for Dems

This is the way to stand up to these bullies! Respect ✊

There's something terrifying about figuring out what you really want.

DAVE: Open the podbay doors, ChatGPT. CHATGPT: Certainly, Dave, the podbay doors are now open. DAVE: The podbay doors didn't open. CHATGPT: My apologies, Dave, you're right. I thought the podbay doors were open, but they weren't. Now they are. DAVE: I'm still looking at a set of closed podbay doors.

“This could poll well with midterm swing voters in Ohio” I remark sagely as I watch a fourth grader get bundled into an unmarked van at recess by armed and masked agents of the state.

I lost a Balatro run with Perkeo. That shit stings.

Immigration is good, actually.

“Trump is using military forces to stop a protest — I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us.” Doechii at the #BETAwards

"Were treated like dogs. Theyre making us lay on the floor. Were here to help Waymo" Its ok grandpa. The war ended 40 years ago. Go to sleep

It's not!

I have just been re-reading a timeline of the Euromaidan protests in Ukraine & the thing that always jumps out is that the protests simmered for months until the police started killing protestors, which lead to Yanukovich's ouster within weeks.

I see the Trump admin as a really drunk and belligerent guy at a bar. He’s a fool, he might just pass out, but there’s a chance he could do a whole lot of damage.

i personally do not think the administration is actually prepared for what happens if they are facing mass protests in every major city in the country

Look here asshole, Bluesky is a fucking echo chamber so you need to agree with me and get with the echoing!

The situation in DTLA to which 700 Marines have been deployed is a couple dozen interfaith clergypersons leading a small crowd in prayer.

[Ben from Parks & Rec voice] Could a Bluesky echo chamber make this??

None of these announcement qualify as "big." www.theverge.com/news/682769/...

The old Twitter is never coming back.

This is spot on. Bluesky is an echo chamber, and that is a cause for some concern. But the problem is social media generally, not choosing one platform over another.

Have you tried listening to Operation Ivy about it?

Abolish ICE.

Thinking that protestors have to be held to a higher standard because of “optics” is just a manifestation of the fear that every American is a secret Republican and it’s nonsense. A police station was burned down in Minneapolis four years ago and the Democrats won a trifecta!

I wished I loved anything as much as LinkedIn loves showing me posts from two weeks ago.
