Full text link below to a review article just published in Current Pulmonary Reports on Non-Specific Pleuritis. A key topic for those interested in #mesothelioma evolution. Well done to first author Mark Neilly and thanks to our co-author and pathology colleague, Craig Dick 👏 rdcu.be/d9Fgg

Great to be in beautiful Edinburgh for the National #Mesothelioma Education Day 2025 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Dr Neil McGlinchey kicking off the meeting in fantastic setting at Royal College of Physicians

Looking forward to this tomorrow ⬇️ National #Mesothelioma Network Education Day ✅ New Management Guideline 🩻 New Staging (TNM 9) 📈 Review of Audit Performance (QPI) Plus Trials, Interventional Pain, Pleural Nursing & Horizon scanning …then, dinner with team 🎉🍷

Check out this interview with our #PREDICTMeso PI @kevingblyth.bsky.social discussing #mesothelioma; why it takes so long to develop, and what we at @predict-meso.bsky.social are doing to research and develop new treatments #MesotheliomaResearch #MesoORIGINS #CancerResearch #EarlyDetection

A few mins of #Mesothelioma chat starts @1251 on BBC Scotland Lunchtime Live👇 Why does meso develop decades after exposure? What are we doing in @predict-meso.bsky.social to develop new treatments? @uofglasgow.bsky.social @cruk-si.bsky.social @cancerresearchuk.org www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Looking forward to talking #mesothelioma on BBC Scotland Lunchtime Live in a few minutes!

There are now 24 step-by-step guides, explaining how to create these ⬇️ data visualizations with R/ggplot2 - I hope this is a useful resource. Find them all here: joachimgoedhart.github.io/DataViz-prot...

Article in @heraldscotland.bsky.social this week highlights a sad #mesothelioma story & ongoing research in PREDICT-Meso, IAMMED, Meso-SCAPE & excellent Hansen lab @predict-meso.bsky.social @djmurphylab2.bsky.social @cruk-si.bsky.social www.heraldscotland.com/news/2477596...

It was great to be part of the BTOG/MesoUK Essential Update meeting this week Topics included diagnostics, new Rx, CNS roles, legal, pleural Nice to see 2 current PhD students presenting 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Meso Network (Matt) 🧬 PREDICT-Meso (Mark) @btog.bsky.social @mesouk.bsky.social @uofglasgow.bsky.social

Very proud of Jenny Ferguson - PhD viva passed today! 🎉🥂 Her thesis on stratification of #respiratory disease covered 🫁 STRATIFY trial of #pleural staging in Lung Ca 🔬Predictive Markers in #MPE 🦠 Immune markers of severe #COVID19 🙏 R Bhatnagar, C Church & L Richmond! @uofglasgow.bsky.social

Kevin Blyth: management of mesothelioma effusion 🔹IPC vs pleurodesis = equivalent efficacy For pleurodesis: 🔹 Talc = most effective agent 🔹 Big drain no better than smaller ones 🔹 NSAIDs fine for analgesia (won’t limit pleurodesis) 🔹 Talc slurry as good as poudrage

@dean_fennell: 2L mesothelioma options 👉 (small) subset of non-epithelioid pts do very well with Vin 🟢 Gem+Ramucirumab = ⬆️ PFS ❓ Gem maintenance = ⬆️ PFS, but a bit forgotten 🟢 Platinum rechallenge RR 50% ❓Activity in immuno rechallenge, RR up to 50%

Improve your mesothelioma service by forming a network: the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 experience by Matthew Tate 🟢 ⬆️ data completeness 🟢 ⬇️ non-biopsy cases 🟢 ⬆️ OS in non-epithelioid 🔺 OS benefit not solely due to arrival of immunotherapy @btog.bsky.social @mesouk.bsky.social

PREDICT-Meso: 🧐 How does inflammation evolve into malignancy? 🧐 Can we diagnose mesothelioma at pre-malignant stage? 👉 80 institutions, 16 countries 👉 x5 work streams Fantastic, ambitious, international, multi-faceted project @btog.bsky.social @mesouk.bsky.social

Matthew Tate presenting outcomes from the Scottish #Mesothelioma Network ⬆️ Overall Survival in Non-Epi cases ⬆️ Use of Immunotherapy ⬆️ OS in Non-Epi cases not receiving IO Mesothelioma networks should be developed across the UK

Was that a collective sigh of relief, I heard?

On-call week for me at #QEUH Lots of Flu A! 🦠😷 Felt like every other patient today. Will be interested to see if the upward trend in last weeks numbers continues publichealthscotland.scot/publications...

Can you believe it, it’s almost December! This year we’re excited to bring you a #RespMas advent calendar! Every day we’ll open a window to reveal a paper worth reading! By Christmas we’ll all be on top of our Respiratory game! #medsky #pulmsky #lungsky #RespEd #RespIsBest

This is why we are all in this field…to see, and one day to be able to produce work like this. Patho-DBiT-seq www.cell.com/cell/fulltex...

Heading home after a fantastic #BTSWinter2024 Leaving energised and grateful for friends and the opportunity to talk #mesothelioma in the Plenary Scientific Symposium. Also excited for 2025 under our new BTS President!

This morning I presented results of the STRATIFY multi-centre trial of staging thoracoscopy for minimal pleural effusion in lung cancer. The prevalence of occult pleural mets was only 14%, thoracoscopy was safe & altered treatment plans. Paper coming soon! #BTSWinter2024 x.com/UKPleura/sta...

I'm very grateful to Asthma & Lung UK for the early support they provided to our now international #mesothelioma research program. Pump-priming is such an impactful strategy for grant-awarding charities x.com/IanJarroldAL...

Day 2 of #WinterBTS2024 started with a sunny walk in followed by presentation of STRATIFY results (pleural staging of Mini-PE). Next up is #mesothelioma presentation at Plenary Scientific Symposium 😬

This is starting now at #BTSwinter2024 in Windsor on 5th floor!

For anyone attending the Winter BTS meeting next week, we're having a Meso-ORIGINS study investigators' meeting on Wed 27th Nov. 1230-130pm, Rutherford Room on L4. Come and join if you're involved or just interested! #mesothelioma
