@allgumsblazing.bsky.social taking IMAX to a new level.

I was there! And very enjoyable it was too. Frank’s poems are delicate slices of life, made robust by his sensitive reading. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Excited that my poem ‘Poetic Justice’ has been added to the brilliant ‘Faith, Hope and Fiction’ website. Huge thanks to New York Times bestselling author Patricia Crisafulli - check it out here: faithhopeandfiction.com/content/poet...

2025 is off to a good start. Following on from poetry in Drawn to the Light and The Madrid Review, I have a short story in Kleksograph and a poem in Faith, Hope and Fiction. Is it coincidence that this flourish in publications followed a flourish in submissions? 🧐

Really happy to be on this list with such luminaries as @allgumsblazing.bsky.social @ellenharrold.bsky.social @frankfarrelly.bsky.social @sharrongreen.bsky.social @billyfenton.bsky.social

Excited to hear I have a poem coming soon in @madridlitmag.bsky.social - more on that (and other news) later.

1st 2025 meet-up of the West Waterford Poets - Monday 20 Jan at 7:30pm. This month's writing prompt: 'lift' or 'derange' with a poem written for 2 voices. New members - of all abilities - always welcome! #poem #poetry #poetrycommunity #poetsonbluesky #skypoets #writingcommunity #booksky #poetrysky

The last of the ten winners to be shared, but not at all last in merit. Dungarvan’s Joe Kelly brings us his waterford to Ireland - a love song in 24 syllables! #ireland #poetry #waterford #dungarvan #poetsonbluesky waterford.carrd.co

A waterford doesn’t have to be about Waterford. It’s just 4 lines, 8,4,4,8 syllables, and an ABBA rhyming scheme. Check out waterford.carrd.co for more details. There’ll be another competition in 2025. Here’s our penultimate winner from this year. #poetrycommunity #waterford

Eulogy for an Irishman by Neil Hallinan, for me an amazingly funny waterford, one of the ten winners of the first annual waterford competition. Only two left to share! 😁 #poetrycommunity There’ll be more next year. waterford.carrd.co

A spot of local geography gets the waterford treatment by Joshua Dyson in this winning entry to the first annual waterford competition waterford.carrd.co #poetrycommunity The competition will be back next year.

This ekphrastic offering by Hilary Healy was one of only ten winning waterfords from a huge number of entries to the first annual waterford competition. #waterford #poetry We’ll be back in 2025! waterford.carrd.co

Here is another of the ten winning waterfords from the first annual waterford competition. Michael ‘Brick’ Walsh by John Byrne #waterford #poetry waterford.carrd.co

I’m still asking this…

I’m chuffed to hear that my poem “28.6” is going to feature in The Wild Umbrella’s print anthology for 2024. You can hear me read it here: www.instagram.com/reels/audio/...

Next up in our line up of winners, Colm Barry, with a beautiful offering in gaeilge, Féileacán. #poetrycommunity

Here’s another waterford competition winner (see waterford.carrd.co for details), this time from @allgumsblazing.bsky.social written about Dungarvan journalist Jo Bell. Alan was one of those who made Winterverse such a brilliant event. Well done @westwaterfordag.bsky.social #poetsonbluesky

Over the next few days, I’ll post the 10 winners from the 1st waterford competition. 8 of them attended Winterverse, but here is Paul Bullman’s, who was unfortunately unwell at the weekend & unable to read. If any #poetsonbluesky want to enter next year, check out waterford.carrd.co - it’ll be back!

We were nearly able to muster a full complement of the waterford competition’s ten winners to read at Winterverse on Sunday. Sadly, Paul “Flex” Browne, with the apt BlueSky handle @waterford.bsky.social was unable to be there. I took it upon myself to read his offering. Here it is: #poetsonbluesky

Congratulations to @allgumsblazing.bsky.social for his musical musings at Winterverse on Sunday. He was one of many who read and entertained an attentive and engaged audience, but he was the only one with a guitar! #poetrycommunity

What an event Winterverse turned out to be! Standing room only, and all eyes on the poets. The Marine Bar was packed. Well done to @mrsvickyday.bsky.social for organising on behalf of @westwaterfordag.bsky.social and to all the brilliant readers. #poetrycommunity More posts to come.

An email notification will go out in due course, along with publication in a special edition of Poetry Corner in The Dungarvan Leader and an invite to read at Winterverse on Dec 8th, but here are the ten winning poets from the first ever annual waterford competition: waterford.carrd.co/#winners

Reading "Dinosaurs on the Roof" - dedicated to the gulls of central Dublin - at the Poetry Lounge in Waterford today #poetry #birds #gulls @renardpress.bsky.social

What a great afternoon in Waterford for the last Poetry Lounge of the year. 2hrs driving for 2hrs poetry seems a fair exchange, with the bonus of meeting up with @billyfenton and @scyflynn in person. #poetsonbluesky

See you there! 😁

A week after reading at the launch of An Áitiúl III, I just came across my poem in the original volume from a couple of years ago. Loss and erosion are everywhere. Stay strong.

It turns out, judging a poetry competition is really really hard. I want to squeeze about twenty into the ten places available for winners. Never mind the contestants, this just isn’t fair on me! #poetry #writingcommunity #poetsofbluesky

I’m planning to be there!

What a terrific night! Thanks to everyone concerned. So many were inspiring. An Àitiúil ends, but much still goes on. 🥂

@westwaterfordag.bsky.social Welcome to Bluesky!

Excited to be on my way to O’Connell House in Dublin for tonight’s launch of An Áitiúil III - but the irony of having written about ‘the love of local’, then driving a 7hr round trip to celebrate publication isn’t lost on me! 😏

I’m delighted to be going to The Waxed Lemon launch tomorrow, one of the Waterford Writers Weekend events, and I’m in this latest issue. Yay! (Art, not words).

Not sure I can share Insta on BlueSky, but here goes: www.instagram.com/reels/audio/...

Thanks to The Dungarvan Leader for this article last week. I’m excited to be on my way to Congreve Garden to see the ‘Visit Waterford’ exhibition, which will include two of my photographs.

@mrsvickyday.bsky.social Fancy meeting you here?

Celebrating 10 million users! I thought I’d been slow to join, but actually I’ve just been slow to build a community. I vow to try harder! 😏
