Marco Rubio says that Americans living in Europe shouldn't ever have to face any ramifications for their political speech online. The chutzpah is jaw-dropping, as he is PERSONALLY trying to deport legal immigrants for their political speech in the United States.

Oh. "This is about whether we have functional constitutional government in this country. If the IRS can go after you because of what you think or what you believe or what you do, we'd no longer live in a free country.“

The “death of secrecy” in military affairs reflects shifts in today's climate of war due to the erosion of strategic surprise in the pervasive omnipresence of information exchange, explains CSIS expert Matthew Slusher. Read more:

They keep accusing Kilmar Abrego Garcia of being a gang member (and most recently, a human trafficker) without presenting any evidence. That's what due process is for, to prevent the government from doing awful things to any one of us without having to make its case. Due process protects us all.

The ones who support dictatorship abroad support dictatorship here. The ones who lie for Putin lie for Trump.

Important thread.

Bone chilling. A court ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia to stay in the United States. The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that he was illegally removed. Trump is pretending he won the ruling 9-0. 1/ You may not think this case means anything to you. But let me tell you why it does.

I don't think it's an exaggeration that it's an existential moment for the U.S. Supreme Court, when the President works with a foreign dictator to openly disobey a 9-0 ruling.

Another tough morning for the “Trump will be good for free speech” crowd.

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

“So Trump not only refuses to comply with the Roberts ruling, but he has now completely mischaracterized it. What will the Supreme Court do in response? That’s the question we’re working through today. So let’s dig in.”

Its true that America citizens can’t legally be deported. It’s equally clear that this administration doesn’t care about what the law says. www.nbcnews.com/politics/don...

100%. It really is time to go there. Again.

This is a concession by the U.S. government that its “arrangement” with El Salvador is irrevocable. To me this has to be grounds to argue that the arrangement itself is unconstitutional under the Fifth and Eighth Amendments

Not one reporter asked about the Executive Orders targeting Chris Krebs & Miles Taylor during today’s Cabinet press conference. Not one. A president using DOJ to punish those who spoke out? That’s banana republic territory. I waited. The question never came. Why? Has the fear already taken hold?

Seriously? Because we were told they were going to deport violent criminals.

We are literally being led by the dumbest people alive

An @mtsw.bsky.social observation I think about a lot is that future generations absolutely will not believe that Immortan Joe predated the Trump presidency
