I’ve had the chance to pick the brains of 4 MLS head coaches about coaching, when I was a young coach coming up thinking about it as a career. 2 were exceptionally generous with their time and open and honest, 2 were kind of dicks. Guess which 2 are currently unemployed.

I think the single most impactful piece of wisdom fans/coaches/players/GMs should incorporate into how they watch soccer is that sometimes you play well enough to win and don’t, and sometimes you play bad and don’t win, and you should take the time to know the difference
