I just don't get it. As Canadians, we have finished your anthem at a hockey game (after an equipment malfunction), and we sang it loud and clear. September 11th 2001, our little town of Gander Newfoundland took care of 7000 travelers displaced due to closure of airspace in the US. It sucks now.

I don't know if the LA fire department is properly funded or not but the claim that the city cut its budget last year — which is circulating widely on the right — is false. As Politico notes, the budget actually INCREASED by $50 million. A portion of the funding was approved in a separate bill.

Got thinking about trump's threat to Canada in relation to undocumented people being allowed into US. When people cross at land borders to go to the US, they go directly to US Border control. So it may be the Americans who are letting those people in.
