Our economy is far larger than it was decades ago. Where have most of the gains gone? To the top. Any path forward must include a fight to restructure the economy toward more widely shared prosperity. This isn’t a blue state vs. red state phenomenon. It’s a class phenomenon.

The reason that the US is locking up tourists for weeks in hellish detention centers rather than letting them book tickets back home is because the detention centers are owned by corporations. They are charging the taxpayers fortunes to cage these people, and making bonanzas off their suffering.

NEW: @aclu.org obtained ICE's "Alien Enemies Act Validation Guide," confirming all it takes to be sent to rot in prison in El Salvador is being Venezuelan and 1) having a tattoo an ICE officer says is a "gang tattoo" and 2) displaying "logos," "symbols" or clothes an ICE officer says are gang signs.

I just rewatched the 1986 Robin Williams comedy, Club Paradise. Omg it politically hits home more than ever. Also, lots of Caribbean songs mainly sung by Jimmy Cliff. I forgot how good he was. Also starring Peter O’Toole, Twiggy, Rick Moranis, Jimmy Cliff, Andrea Martin was especially funny.
