I am one of more than 750 political scientists who signed this statement "express[ing] our urgent concern about threats to the basic design of American government and democracy" drive.google.com/file/d/1lGk2...

I was inspired by a fellow Bluesky friend @biglifejacket.bsky.social to do some politics poetry slam. I’m no expert but here is my attempt. #resist #stopthecoup #autocracy I call it “our land”

How to hashtag and amplify a protest, this is the best way to document your actions across platforms. (Please note, when documenting a protest practice proper opsec and common sense where necessary.) #3E #USProtests #fiftyfiftyone #Feb17

I’m having great difficulty right now seeing how our political system doesn’t devolve into violence.

This is probably the most accurate take.

Share THIS if you're glad the government is spending less on waste and more on a fleet of Cybertrucks you can see from space!

🚨 Your House representative is now back home through February 23. That’s where we come in. With Trump and Elon Musk pulling off a billionaire coup in real time, this congressional recess is about turning up the heat like never before. Let’s get to work: indivisi.org/muskorus

New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that she has rejected a request from Louisiana Governor Doug Landry to extradite a New York doctor who was previously indicted by a Louisiana grand jury on felony charges related to her prescribing abortion-related medication to a woman in Louisiana.

It is kind of like when you bring your elderly relative to the doctor and your relative sits on the table while the doctor asks you all the questions.

When Trump was sworn in, Elon Musk's corporations were under more than 32 investigations conducted by at least 11 federal agencies. Most of the cases are now closed or likely to be closed soon, and the federal agencies are being defanged by DOGE. Funny how that works, huh?

@aoc.bsky.social We’d like your help organizing a March on Washington to ensure protester safety and secure permits. We’re aiming for a Saturday at least two weeks out to allow for travel planning.

You have questions. Mostly of the "What Can I Do to Resist This Coup?" variety. Choose Democracy has answers. Here's a really handy guide to the how/what/why of organizing... Share widely. Link here: choosedemocracy.us/what-can-i-do/

Paul Martin, the inspector general for the USAID, has been fired after resisting the administration. Just a day ago, his office released a report warning that staff reductions and spending freezes put hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars at risk of misuse and waste. This is the way.

There is going to come a time in the very near future where the only way to resolve this is for every non-MAGA media company to band together and simply refuse to walk into the presser or attend the event. Because he wants the coverage more than anything else. Divided you fall.

Every. Word. Of. This! Senator Alsobrooks: "In his wicked hunt for vengeance, this president has decided that no target is too small, no family is too vulnerable, and no American is out of bounds."

At this point I don't understand why everybody isn't seeing that if a Republican's lips are moving they are lying. Don't believe the lies.

I've heard our time called The Age of Regression. It sure looks like it. But hang in there everyone. It is our country and our government. They work for us. Be strong. Be LOUD. Be brave.

The CFPB has returned $21 billion to 205 million consumers who were scammed at the hands of predatory banks. You can root out waste, fraud, and abuse... or you can eliminate the CFPB. But you can't do both.

Regarding the Gulf of Mexico, I am going to as respectful in remembering this as the Republicans are about using people's pronouns. I mean it is so hard to remember, we've been saying Gulf of Mexico for 400 years.
