I’m against the death penalty but I’m prepared to make an exception for the boob who filmed the evacuation of the crash at YYZ today. Please do not share that isht.

Ford government’s chronic underfunding of education is creating compounding issues for staff and students “Students are basically being left behind and we see an education system that is frankly in crisis.” pressprogress.ca/ford-governm...

On the bright side the US is going to slide down the drain so fast they probably won’t be able to drag any of the rest of the Global North countries with them.

Who wants to start a pool on how many days will pass between “we don’t need Canadian oil” and “we must restart building Keystone XL”?

Eff you Meta

Homework for our American friends: read The Cellist of Sarajevo and go buy a fishing rod if you don’t already own one.

I was so excited about our lunch yesterday (Edulis in case you are wondering) I forgot to do puzzles and broke all of my steaks. It was worth it.

I keep seeing articles saying AI data centers use huge amounts of water. I’ve worked on “water cooled” DC projects & they were closed loops (and most of those used glycol). I did run one DC that used city water for cooling but it was an outlier. So what are they using the water for?

Since there won’t be one tomorrow this morning’s newspaper (yes I’m that old) had double the comics and double the puzzles, I’m not about to turn the page to the obituaries.

What grade of idiot thinks that people who watch Escape to the Country is a good target market for peak bro coded underpants ads?

I should sit the JLPT exam every year whether I’m moving up levels or not just to be in a room with 80 other adults (and one 10 year old) who can all simply sit quietly for the 10 minutes between them distributing the test books and the exam actually starting I need that vibe occasionally.

Well, for only the second time in many tries I solved the 7x7 Ken Ken today. Yes I’m bragging.

I’m sort of vaguely interested in history at the “watch documentaries on PBS/TVO level” so I followed a “historians” starter pack without realizing how many academic historians were REALLY active here.

One of my social contacts was a fellow traveler on a culinary tour, he was on a gap year between med school and a PhD program, he’s now a practicing orthopedic surgeon, he posted a picture of his Thanksgiving turkey in which he had sutured all of the openings closed, so wrong in so many ways.

For a sec I thought I may have had an air duct call where the guy was actually using his real name. Nice try “Muhammad Ali”

Okinawa style (brown sugar and awomori in the sauce) pork belly with somen from a Saveur recipe a few years ago.🍽️

Is there a parallel universe where anyone pays for a subscription to the shitty games that are the only thing advertised in other games?

Leftover restaurant nachos become chilaquiles verde for breakfast🍽️

At this point it’s clear that the actual Treasure of Oak Island is the secret of how to get TV producers to repeatedly pay you for making the same show about not finding something that was never there.

This is a cracking good read

I’m open to suggestions what to do with these bad boys. Blessed to have friends who hunt. #venison #cooking
