My @erikahall.bsky.social chicken, Bellamy, has taken up residence.

11:48 downtown # 4. Semi-crowded. Within sight 8 looking at phones, 10 staring into space, two talking, one reading paper book.

Wow crazy you guys must be giving her a big raise, right?

9:24am # 4 train to manhattan: 8 staring into space, 9 looking at phones, 4 sleeping, 2 reading paper books.

Bacteria pain you; Fungi love damp; Norovirus drains you; Salmonella gives cramp. Prions ream skulls; Roundworms outlive; E. coli’s not cool; You might as well regulate the goddamn food system.

Happy May Day, from the city that brought it to you.

May Day is about power—how people working together, fighting for justice, fairness, human rights, can win those things for all. It means working together with people you don’t know, caring about the lives of people you will never meet. We always need that. Right now it’s an existential necessity.

Happy May Day, don’t be a scab.

Happy May Day! Thank you, labor movement.

it's important this go as viral as the original story for morale purposes if nothing else. despite the image they project these people are NOT unaccountable. consequences CAN be forced. focused anger and outrage MATTERS.

Newsletters from @dansinker.com on the history of his mag Punk Planet just reminded me about his story-a-day project Cell Stories, the first place that ever published my fiction. That piece became the opening of my first novel Follow Me Down. Might not have been brave enough to write it without Dan.

Best mail day from Chicken Town / @erikahall.bsky.social

Nikki created this reformatted version of "Some Actions that Are Not Protesting or Voting" and it looks great. Feel free to share. Thanks Nikki. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Kiddo and I got so caught up in the final hour of @booker.senate.gov on the senate floor, I'm going to have to send a "Cory Booker's speech ate my homework" note to school with her tomorrow.

I have to pee but I’m holding it in solidarity

Just so everybody understands, Booker has been speaking cogently about the issues the entire time and Strom Thurmond famously spent hours reading from the encyclopedia, because segregationists were and are dumbshits

Volley to you, every Democratic senator who isn't already there. On your feet.

Right now, probably Severance, don't @ me

Thank you @corybooker.com thank you thank you keep talking www.c-span.org/event/us-sen...

My mother’s call scripts are lit. “Made my calls today, offered to lend Gillibrand and Schumer my copy of the Declaration of Independence in case they don’t have one.”

Fuck you, pay us. Four of mine.

I would make this pledge as well.

You need more paintings of chickens in your life, I promise. clickens.chicken.pics/impartial/10... is a way to choose which chicken painting by @erikahall.bsky.social fits with various adjectives. You're welcome.

Nurse takes my blood pressure. “Perfect. You’re alive!”

I know it does not really work this way exactly or at all but I am just trying today since 5pm to treat the traumatic universe of reality as a day job and have a weekend.

Erika nails it, as always. (thread)

Chick-en pics! Chic-en pics!

Please enjoy this trip into the fabulist area of my brain.
