At Walla Walla Pride? Come say hi at the @transpochoices.bsky.social booth down at the transit center!

A packed house heard from candidates for Mayor, the two citywide council candidates and D2 candidates tonight. Thank you to the organizers, our ASL interpreters, the candidates and community members who showed up and watched online!

TL;DR the land use committee adopted a new amendment that considerably scaled back the new requirements around public outreach. It's now not expected to add any significant time or cost to light rail projects. Full vote next week.

City plans to add 150 parking spaces next to too-skinny Alki Trail + An easy way to widen the trail as part of the project #SEAbikes #Seattle

Lane removal now. There’s no reason Rainier should be six lanes wide here with 2 foot sidewalks squeezed right up against the car lanes so you have to duck mirrors of passing trucks.

This is actually on the table with this transportation levy, which includes repaving funds for Rainier between Little Saigon and Mount Baker.

👀Spotted on a CaBi while at @nacto.bsky.social. Any idea how this got here @seattlebikeblog.com?

Congrats @christofspieler.bsky.social! Great pick @satyaformadison.bsky.social! www.cityofmadison.com/news/2025-05...

WA cities showing up strong at @nacto.bsky.social! Great to have @spokanecity.org, @bvuetrans.bsky.social, Redmond & Vancouver showing off here!

DC streetcar was so poorly designed: —No dedicated lanes & thus frequently obstructed by traffic —No connection to Metro or even the front of Union Station —No enforced signal priority, slowing trains —No real effort to improve the streetscape —Too many stops (8 stations/2.4 mi)

We look forward to seeing you on June 4th! Register: partiful.com/e/3Pvqq32fTj...

Give the 8 a bus lane you cowards

Alright gonna ride the 7 the full length of the new bus lanes. Hoping on at Rainier Valley Square and riding to CID Station. Leaving now! www.seattle.gov/transportati...

T-10 minutes to waterfront ice cream 🍦

It crossed the bridge! www.theurbanist.org/2025/05/22/s...

"The results are damning. Our analysis shows that transit trips in the District take on average over 2.5 times longer than driving the same route." ggwash.org/view/99532/d... Damning, indeed.

I spy a train on a floating bridge! 👀

BREAKING NEWS: THE GOVERNOR PLANS TO SIGN THE SHARED STREETS BILL SB 5595 ON SATURDAY!!!

The system maps in Link trains are now officially torturing, er, tantalizing us.

NYC’s congestion pricing is a policy miracle: Less traffic, less noise, faster transit, more business sales, more transit revenue. And it hasn’t produced the negative effects outside the cordon zone we were afraid of. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Just opening a couple of new light rail stations. NBD

That’s first ride feeling! Will stop posting giddy photos sometime today, but not right now

It’s real! @kellireef.bsky.social & I used to talk about getting Redmond light rail ready. From the turnout today, Redmond is more than ready! Congrats on the opening event @moveredmond.org!

Redmond is all about light rail! Redmond Mayor Angela Birney kicking off a PACKED ribbon cutting for the opening

So many transit celebrity sightings at the Downtown Redmond Link Extension opening. Come say hi at @transpochoices.bsky.social booth!

'Vastly more walkable': After decades of debate, Pike Place Market soft-launches car ban www.knkx.org/transportati...

+1 to this. This bridge and trail is what reconnecting communities looks like. Getting between SE Redmond and Downtown meant a stressful crossing of 520. Now it’s stress free.

In a survey of 2,000 Puget Sound residents, a full majority of respondents said that they feel unsafe walking or biking on the major roadways near them, with a full 67% saying they feel unsafe using a bicycle on major roadways (or simply crossing them) where they live.

Already having a great time speeding past 520 traffic on the Downtown Redmond Link Extension preview ride!

My hometown’s glow up getting coverage in @usa.streetsblog.org! Great quote from @kellireef.bsky.social. Thanks for covering @keawilson.bsky.social!

We're joining @spokanecity.org, Spokane Bike Club, @spokanereimagined.org and other advocates to ride to work with Mayor Lisa Brown on Bike Everywhere Day, Wed May 14! Ride with us and stop by our celebration station at City Hall afterwards! www.meetup.com/spokane-bicy...

Here's a fun overview of trains in Washington. Enjoy! stateofwatourism.com/amtrak-train...

I have a strong intuitive feeling that concert setlists should be a public record, subject to FOIA requests

‘Redmond was ready for light rail before Sound Transit was.’ Been dreaming about this piece since I worked at the City of Redmond back in 2011. Great quotes from @kellireef.bsky.social & @kccclaudia.bsky.social and reporting from @nickdeshais.bsky.social www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

I’ve already seen @joshrosenau.org stand up for transit riders at the rally for BRT in LFP. Lake Forest Park residents & the region would be lucky to have him as a councilmember.

He's running

Checking out the brand new safety redesign of N 130th St — it’s looking good! I’m hearing it is already helping to reduce spending, and once the new Pinehurst light rail station opens it should encourage people to walk and bike there.

From Spokane to Seattle to Pierce County, there are big transit campaigns on the horizon. Come join our team & help win them

Spotted @mlklabor.bsky.social’s Katie Garrow leading the huge May Day march through Downtown!

Two days too late, but the City & SDOT can move fast when it wants too. Thanks to @sngreenways.bsky.social @seattlebikeblog.com for helping make this happen

After hit and run at 4th/Pine, safety advocates plan people-protected bike lane at 1pm #SEAbikes #Seattle

The legislature approved a transportation budget this weekend. Lawmakers allocated more than one-third of WSDOT's two year budget to highway widenings and extensions, leaving preservation and maintenance funding constant and on a glide path toward failure. www.theurbanist.org/2025/04/30/f...

House GOP hopes to eliminate funds for efforts to reconnect communities & improve access. Projects that could lose fed funding include: —Austin I-35 deck —Atlanta Beltline south —Buffalo Bailey Ave BRT —Chicago Blue Line improvements —Philly Chinatown Stitch —Seattle Stride BRT & many more
