So if you were going to try and download the rest of your library from Amazon lied to us and have already started switching off the download option. I did some last night, came back to finish this morning and got an error message, when I went to chat, this is what they said:

I’ve woken to what Winnie the Pooh would call a very blustery day; grey skies, gusts of wind bending the tree branches & scattering the birds. But yesterday, when there was sun, my walk took me past this fallen tree where a tiny amount of bright magic was happening. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

Sorry to bother you @levparikian.bsky.social but I can’t quite work out if this is a chaffinch or a brambling (it seems too pointy and tufty on the top of the head for a chaffinch but the colouring is closer) and thought you might be able to tell.

We have sunshine! And I bring a triple combination of two lichen (cracked-shield and oakmoss) and one moss (elegant bristle-moss) on the same branch. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

I snuck out for a walk in the tiny amount of sunshine that appeared late yesterday afternoon so now I have a beautifully glowing patch of what I think is silver moss to share this grey Friday morning. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

Today - despite the wind and rain - we have a lichen moss combo of cracked-shield lichen (parmelia sulcata) at the top of the photo and some more elegant bristle-moss (this time a brighter green) at the bottom. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

This morning the garden is full of wren song, the surrounding trees are full of wood pigeons, and I bring elegant bristle-moss for #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

Going on Hiatus: A quick update about what’s happening in my world at the moment

We have sunshine! And I bring Oakmoss, or Evernia Prunastri, which is a lichen and a very pretty one, too. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

This week I’ve decided the theme is “things growing on branches” and we’re starting off with the rather strange appearance of the bark of a Winged Elm, which I took to be a fungus when I first noticed it. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

Catkins, offering the promise of spring. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

FYI, Amazon will no longer enable the downloading of ebooks to exterior devices starting February 26th. Here’s a tutorial on how to download your ebooks off of Amazon. You can use Calibre (free software) to reformat the kindle books to be used on other devices. www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2DQuRqn/

An extract from Light Rains Sometimes Fall is on Melissa Harrison’s excellent nature journaling app Encounter right now. The app launches officially in April but is already beautiful and free to download. www.encounter-nature.com

It may be so grey and gloomsome here that I’ve got the lights on at half past nine in the morning but, having ventured the princely sum of £1 on my first bunch of the year yesterday, I have sunshine in the form of daffodils instead. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

Since roses aren’t in season at this time of year in the northern hemisphere I bring some sunlit cyclamen for Valentine’s Day. #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

I am very much looking forward to this:

This sheep wished me to share the photo that showcased “my best angle, darling! #TheSmallThings #SpreadingJoy

I’ll continue to post photos of sunnier places until the weather improves here in London. Capri coastline, taken last April #photography #landscapephotography #Capri #Italy

No sales so far this year so sharing this here for the first time: 💙📚 #KingArthur #TheFutureKing
