I'm going to say it louder: if you're (understandably) struggling with this compassionate response - which we *need* in the struggle - try looking at it this way. What would Fred Rogers do in this situation? Do that. Yes, it's hard. But we must fight the fascism in our hearts as well as outside.

To contribute to the discourse: there’s a difference between thinking everyone needs to touch the stove and being an asshole, and the guy whose insulin’s 16x more expensive has already touched the stove. You don’t laugh at him for touching the stove, you run his hand under cold water and try to help
