Well, I was going to maybe do something but now a cat is curled up on my chest, so I guess I am staying here.

Okay. What's the easiest way to follow a lot of blogs that don't seem to have a way to subscribe to them. Is there a way to set up alerts when there's a new post? Is there some kind of RSS thing I can do?

I ended up giving some open water swimming advice, if you're curious. If you live in #Vancouver and want more info about the Vancouver Open Water Swim Association (@vowsa.bsky.social), feel free to reach out. (I'm on the board and was the president for the last 2 years.)

Gross. I love audiobooks and ebooks. I've been trying harder to get things from the library first, then libro.fm or bookshop.org, then amazon if they're the only ones with digital. When I need a hard copy, I always order from my local bookstore: @bookwarehouse.bsky.social.

This story is going viral and causing a major freakout among museum donors and patrons. I'm told by a source at the museum that it is completely untrue. ??

Fantastic thread

This is a great use of the internet

So very glad to hear this, but I want to emphasize that this does not undo the harm that has been done in fear, stress, monetary costs, lost opportunities, breaks in research, damage to reputations, fractured networks.

I needed to write about something that’s giving me hope, so I wrote about Independent Bookstore Day which is this Saturday. lithub.com/something-go...

News you can use! Was the debate lengthy AND girthy? (I refuse to open the article. I just want the headline to live forever.)

This seems like a really bad development?

At the risk of overtagging @bluejo.bsky.social in things this week, I cannot recommend her series on the Hugos enough. I've been reading her recommendations for other books from 1953 and they've been fantastic. (I've actually liked them better than The Demolished Man, which *won* the '53 Hugo.)

Arresting a sitting judge for not helping ICE goons disappear someone from her courthouse. At this point, anyone still quibbling about whether or not this is fascism is a collaborator.

My current view.
