18F, the federal government’s technology shop, was demolished by Musk’s team shortly after midnight. It was a cost-recoverable org, charging agencies for their expertise, using a consulting model. Its cost to government was negligible, its benefits huge. My team there once saved DoD $500 billion.

HEY EVERYONE REMEMBER WHEN TRUMP WAS IMPEACHED FOR DENYING AID TO UKRAINE BECAUSE HE WANTED ZELENSKY TO LIE AND SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT BIDEN AND ZELENKSY WOULDN’T DO IT? Maybe literally one fucking American newspapers could mention this in their, “think pieces,” about what happened yesterday.

Checked into my hotel room. It has workout equipment in it--resistance bands, balance ball, yoga mat, clorox wipes. It's kinda cool. But, like, I'm glad I carry a travel bottle of Febreeze with me.

The U.S. government has put up a submission form for reporting schools who teach kids about “DEI.” It accepts file uploads. Internet, you know what to do enddei.ed.gov

If you see this, quote with a horror movie you love.

Your regular reminder McConnell could have taken care of this in January 2021

Since I'm Meemaw-aged, I think I'm qualified to offer this bit of advice: Do what you want. Chase joy. Revel in living rent-free in the heads of the judgmental. Seriously, fuck 'em.

Holy shit, I'm in!

Ooh, yes. I'd also nom on Jamie Flanagan's brain meats if given the opportunity.

For themes, I have noticed found family, generational trauma, and mental struggles keep popping up a lot in my writing. Oh, and cats. 🐈 🐈‍⬛ #HorrorWritersChat

Eat the rich? Would read this for sure. #horrorwriterschat

I'm a product of acid rain and smog in my ancient-in-the-80s social studies books, stupid and illogical gender roles, a nomadic life, and adventures in the woods in Georgia and Tennessee, and that shows in frequent intersectional justice themes. #horrorwriterschat

Probably Kristi DeMeester or Gwendokyn Kiste. Both for the same reason: I want to nom on their brainmeats for a bit and play in some feminist themes with a few callbacks to the 80s. #horrorwriterschat

I'm KL. I write short stories and poetry, and I've been casually hammering at horror stories for a long time. The horror poetry has only been going on for a few years. #horrorwriterschat

The husband just asked me about a complication with his database, and it spawned a whole-ass conversation that made me feel smart for a whole two seconds. Now I want to dive deep on document databases. Alas. No time for love, Dr Jones.

This is why this podcast is awesome.

I live for the guest diversity on @fafo.fm. Kudos, @withenoughcoffee.com and @justingarrison.com!

Tesla's stock is ridiculously overvalued, and even a modest consumer boycott could tank the company, which accounts for the majority of Elon Musk's wealth. The divestment movement weakened apartheid South Africa. Let's do that again. slate.com/business/202...

This week, I scrapped a story and started rewriting it from scratch. Tonight, I busted out 3k words to finish it. I think this rendition doesn't suck, which means it's actually liver-flavored fermented ass, and I'll hear all about it when it goes up for workshopping. Huzzah.

This is a personal attack.

I sweartuhgawd if the local Navy clinic can't get its shit together...

ohhhhhh nooooooooo don't make California even more awesome. (Pssst Denmark, can you buy the whole left coast? Washington is some 🤌👩‍🍳 real estate.)

I'm home alone this week -- husband is on travel, kids are at their respective schools -- but I just heard someone stomping up the stairs from the basement. It was just elder sprog coming home for the weekend, but good gods, I had a smol panic.

About half a cup of gochujang in my soup tonight, but I might add more. I need to burn this cold out of my face.

Stress-ate 70g of espresso beans and typed out a rage comment to some idiot being wrong on the internet, and now, because I'm stupid, I'm surprised my chest hurts. 🙄

basically, i see the literature of unsettlement as three (often overlapping) streams: 1) the thanatotic (horror+) 2) the erotic (romance and erotica+) 3) the comedic (comedy+) . all three exist to unsettle in particular ways even though the variances of said unsettlement may be...

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.

So here’s how I see things in broad strokes. There are kind of three divergent roads from here. 1) Our institutions hold, more or less. We limp forward and make it to the midterms and beyond. Elections happen and are free enough and fair enough that we can reverse things.

Annie Easley, a pioneering NASA computer scientist, helped develop the codes behind wind & solar energy projects. Her research also advanced battery storage for EVs, shaping the future of clean energy. #WomenInSTEM #BlackHistoryMonth

Quick tip on baking without paying for eggs: aquafaba. It's the liquid you get from a can of beans, and it can replace eggs as binders. I've also made meringues from them, and they're fantastic. You can make your own by cooking dried beans. loveisinmytummy.com/2017/05/home...
