I still don’t get one thing. If COVID was a hoax what killed over 1 million Americans btwn 2020 and today?

FREEDOM OF SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY IS FOUNDATIONAL TO A HEALTHY DEMOCRACY! #standupforscience #scienceforall

Science is for everyone!

This is a colleague of mine. A brilliant researcher, a fierce advocate for mothers and children, and a wonderful human. Termination of previously funded current research studies is censorship. If hearing this troubles you - call your representatives. They work for you.

I hope that folks in media know the scope of the bloodbath that is happening across the #NIH. They are literally cutting millions of $ focused on #HIV, improving human health across populations, & PREVENTING DISEASES. I can't go 1 hour without another colleague telling me their work was ended (1/3)

I have heard of so many LGBTQ+ grants terminated today. I am so sorry to everyone affected. This is devastating to our communities and to us as researchers. I have nothing more eloquent, comforting, or helpful to say. This is all just immeasurably horrible.

*Appalling*. Censorship of science by journals published by the federal government, masqueraded as “stylistic” edits. (Public Health Reports.) Avoid govt published journals: guides.lib.uw.edu/govpubs-quic...

This is a perfect explanation of one of the ways that censorship hurts all of us. Termination of grants that have been awarded after rigorous peer review is censorship. We need to fight back against this.

Censorship hurts all of us.

Dr. Beccia is an incredibly talented researcher, a fierce advocate, and represents the future of our field. The loss of her grant is huge to her, and the burden of the loss will have ripple effects long into the future. We cannot look away.

I spoke with @waterslicer.bsky.social of @wired.com about how the Trump admin's transphobic executive orders are harming public health research and practice, and about the brilliant data archivists doing what we can to sustain queer health research 🌈 #episky #StandUpForScience

Providing every child access to a high quality education is the most important thing we can do to protect our future. An educated workforce drives the economy, scientific innovation and secures our countries place as a world leader. Eliminating the #doe will hurt all of us. #departmentofeducation

"We do not believe that this suspension of vaccine hesitancy research is what people in the US want. Participants in our study told us repeatedly they would like to see outreach [& want it to] come from their communities, to listen, and understand their concerns." sahanjournal.com/opinion/heal...

purging and censoring public data is going to hurt our ability to study and address eating disorders, esp for queer and trans people. thank you @datarescueproject.org for sharing! #StandUpForScience @harvardstriped.bsky.social

Medical research saves lives. The Trump Administration’s actions to take away NIH funding threatens life-saving research, clinical trials, treatments, and breakthroughs on everything from cancer and Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s and rare diseases.

Thank you Minnesota Reformer for running this piece. As I said, what we have has taken decades to build, and if it is broken, it will not bounce back.

A powerful essay by @mnlaska.bsky.social that captures one of the things I find most disturbing about these times. minnesotareformer.com/2025/03/13/i...

Gutting the Department of Education will impact everything from internet access to school buses. Let’s not make it harder to learn.

USDA cancels $18 million in funding for school meals and food banks in Minnesota minnesotareformer.com/2025/03/11/u...

My grandmother had polio as a child. It resulted in eye damage - she had corrective surgery but was never made whole. Vaccines save lives. They save quality of life. We cannot go back.

As long as I have a heartbeat I will continue to advocate for vaccines.

healthism – the positioning of health as both a moral imperative and an individual responsibility – actually harms both mental and physical health and worsens health inequities #episky

Minneapolis / Twin Cities: Any solidarity protests planned already against Mahmoud Khalil's detention? Haven't found anything but my family would like to join if there is one.

Thank you, all. @standupforscience.bsky.social @jpflores.bsky.social @samschuelstein.bsky.social @emmalovesscience.bsky.social @leslie-bern.bsky.social #standupforscience2025 #scienceforall
