"Guess what? C.Q. Brown and Lisa Franchetti are just Jamie Tart distractions. The scoring move for Trump and Hegseth was firing all of the lawyers." But a distraction that will cause long-term damage, as FW notes.

Yeeeee-hawwwwwww!

Texas measles outbreak grows to 90 cases across seven counties, a 505 increase since Tuesday.

Are Houstonians/Harris County residents dumb enough to vote for another new stadium when Reliant opened in 2022? Football? You bet!

Run the Tuberville playbook! "By forcing the Senate to take these nominations to committee, to vote on every single one of these, it really slows down the process of other political appointments .... "Take a page out of the Republican playbook and slow down these appointments."

What an unforgivably dismal list of New York fiction. The Times should change its readership.

yep

Gleen Kirschner on Costa, quoting Akhil Reed Amar, SCOTUS made the Constitution unconstitutional

At some point, the MAGAts will tell us he was just an unqualified DEI hire.

"Can you explain Marco Rubio in a way that does not include the phrase 'dickless'?"

We cannot let this happen. More innocent Ukrainians will die. @schumer.senate.gov @adamschiff.com @amyklobuchar.com

We have reached out to the company who was awarded this contract and they have confirmed the ceiling was $8 million—NOT billion. Here is their statement. The federal government is cooking the books.

The Fuck

A Black man with 13 kids by six different women wouldn’t be allowed near the White House much less allowed to run the shadow government.

Who are the undocumented immigrants in Texas? (and thanks to the TT for the direct Bsky link)

"department supervisors granted anonymity to speak candidly said some of those fired were top performers. Among those fired were employees who had been aggressively recruited and had left better-paying jobs for the opportunity to join the federal service, the officials added."

Essentially, the "We own all Iraq's oil" deal 2.0. Cost to Ukraine: 50% of all mineral wealth, 50% of all future deals, right of first refusal, full control over terms of sale on licenses. Cost to Russia: Seriously? You thought there was one?

🚨🚨🚨 Musk and Trump fired 1000 VA staff, including staff working the Veterans Crisis Line. That’s confirmed. Musk and Trump are firing Veterans across federal agencies. That’s confirmed. NOW is the time to make some noise. NOW is the time to stand firm. Make every day a living hell for them.

What a coincidence that: 1. Trump announces the creation of a Sovereign Wealth Fund. 2. He wants 50% of Ukraine’s minerals. 3. Tried to have Z transfer it into a ‘Reconstruction Develop Fund’. 4. Head of Russian Sovereign Wealth Fund is part of the delegation meeting with Rubio in Saudi Arabia.

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

I don’t see the consolation in the notion that this will end badly for Trump/Musk/Maga and their collaborators. It will be vastly worse for everyone else. Sure, criminal regimes ultimately fall - but not without enduring gains for them and unrecoverable losses for those they destroy.

Not only Ukrainians believe it to be the case. Mostly because it is the case. More NYT idiocy: "Ukrainians believe the United States and Britain have failed to live up to their obligations to protect the country under an agreement signed at the end of the Cold War."

The work began in 2017, very much in the shadow of the election. COVID intervened, and as it was going through proofing, some asked if, with Trump about to be gone, should that focus be pared back. If only.

This is what ignorant and uninformed Americans who whine about aid to Ukraine don’t know or ignore. The money mostly got spent on American businesses and employed American workers.

NYTimes's medium range forecast: No More Constitution.
