The big takeaway here is that Reuters won this case against the AI company on grounds they violated fair use—the judge found the AI company was guilty because, in using copyrighted works to generate its output, it “meant to compete... by developing a market substitute.” Huge.

I have been horrified by the widely believed to be wrongful convictions that jailed #lucyletby for life. Wonderful statiticians and clinicians have built a solid team exposing the facile Blame the nurse! - we had that in Canada with #SusanNelles but it didn't go far. This may be a turning point.
