I pre-ordered this back in the first week of November. So excited πŸ₯³

We went to Crooked Beat Records in Alexandria, VA over the weekend. I was excited to find a copy of Pause by Four Tet πŸ€— #NowSpinning #Vinyl

It's the DRM-free PDF downloads that have me all excited! It does state, though, that this will only be available from publishers who support it... So we'll see how many titles you'll actually be able to download. Happy nonetheless!

So we spent this past weekend in Alexandria, VA / DC area. Not a single speck of snow *anywhere.* Now it's back to this bullshit πŸ˜‘

At the Capital One Lounge in Dulles and it's the best thing ever. They have a fancy little buffet and the coconut tahini parfait was absolutely magnificent 😱

Welp. Oilers lost. We had ramen after the game, because ramen fixes everything.

Edmonton Oilers vs DC Capitals. We'll see what happens at the National Anthem πŸ‘€ Go Canada!

Left last Friday for a trip to Alexandria, VA. Went to a local chili cook-off fundraiser for my friends' neighborhood. Used the bathroom, and when I turned to flush, my left earring fell out as I pulled the handle. Earring dropped into the toilet and got flushed away 😭

I spent some time yesterday processing a stack of graphic novels! Berserk vol 2 and Something Is Killing the Children vol 1 are replacements because they've been "lost" for quite a while. I love the *concept* of Tank Chair, but a bit too much blood for me 😬 πŸ’™πŸ“š #PubLibs #LibraryLife

An absolute classic 🀌

Love a good 90's downtempo track 😁

It's... Better. Book glue and cloth hinge tape took care of the inside. I used heavy cardstock and vinyl tape with a cloth outside on the spine. Sometimes I get scared when I repair these old books because there's no replacement if I absolutely fuck it up πŸ‘€ πŸ’™πŸ“š #PubLibs #LibraryLife

Love these guys...

Recently finished All the Water in the World by Eiren Caffall. One of my favorite small details was the emphasis on the dangers of the flood water, itself. Flood water can have chemicals, sewage, bacteria, and insects that carry disease. It adds a whole new layer to natural disaster clifi. πŸ’™πŸ“š

Tomorrow is the AnimEigo Town Hall livestream! Monday, February 10th at 9pm Eastern/6pm Pacific! A stack of licenses to announce, plus updates & more to talk about! www.youtube.com/animeigo/live

It's snowing *again.*

Another old reference book to repair. The black tape on the binding was, maybe, original. It started to peel up, and someone thought it was a good idea to just put clear tape over it. Now that tape is coming up, too. The pages are stapled together and have come apart in chunks πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ #PubLibs πŸ’™πŸ“š

Mine shipped yesterday, and I'm so excited 😍

Spent my wednesday night working on this repair job. See quoted skeet for the original condition 😬 It's not perfect, but it's *better.* Before anyone gets mad about the title - this reference book is over 100 years old and is part of our NYS history collection. #PubLibs #LibraryLife πŸ’™πŸ“š

I am not a fast reader, despite working in a public library. I picked my Libby and Cloud Library holds based on estimated wait time so I wouldn't get them all at once... Guess who got all of their holds at once πŸ˜‚ Yeah, me. #PubLibs #LibraryLife πŸ’™πŸ“š

JFC, it never stops snowing around here πŸ˜‘ Photos taken about 10 mins ago when I took my dog out for one last potty break before bed.

So many bad/stupid things are happening right now, and it calls for another list of Weird Books You Can Read If You Want To Escape Realityβ„’. Basically, these are books that probably take place in our reality, but some weird shit happens. πŸ’™πŸ“š

So I finally got around to uploading my Goodreads data to The StoryGraph. I really like how they call it a "To-Read-Pile" πŸ˜‚ Seems about right. I'm not the fastest reader, despite being a public library employee, and I average about 4-ish books a month, and that includes audio. Profile: @kadydid πŸ’™πŸ“š

Love a good lo-fi beat! This is absolutely amazing πŸ˜‚

Someone repaired the creases of this reference book with cloth tape. But instead of covering the whole spine, they used 2 strips, so over time they curled and came off. That yellowish substance in the 1st pic is the dried up tape adhesive. I started scraping it off in pic #2. #PubLibs #LibraryLife

I am *so happy* this series is getting a reprint. Sadly I missed the cutoff to add volume 1 to my subscription list at a local comic book store, but volume 2 is all set πŸ‘ I'll just preorder volume 1 from Barnes and Noble since I have some rewards points 😁

So excited 😍

I spent my Wednesday night shift counting out carrot seeds. Each manila envelope has 32 seeds. For the past few years we've put together seed kits to give out in march. This year it's carrot, pumpkin, sunflower, spinach, bush bean, and cabbage. #LibraryLife #PubLibs
