You can't take the sky from me.

The loose chunky gravel out here can be brutal to ride on, not helped by a steady head/cross wind, but it's so nice to be back outside. The cacophony of the tires on gravel helps drown out the anger and despair that's been screaming in my head. The MAGA signs, not so much.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008. Also bigger than the 2024 DNC. And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

My wife is going to love me using this stat to justify my next bike purchase. “Look, it will pay for itself within a year!”

Back to COVID protocols for all meetings and conferences - virtual only. Please do not continue holding in-person events, since that will exclude international colleagues, and may tempt them to travel anyways. Any new developments/startups for facilitating hallway-style conversations virtually?

U.S. Mail is not for sale! Stand up with the postal workers on Thursday at the Indiana Statehouse at 11am. Also events in Muncie, Lafayette, and Gary. #HoosierSky #Indiana #Indianapolis

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/19/trump-musk-french-scientist-detained Many French scientists joined in with @standupforscience.bsky.social rallies two days prior. Coincidental timing? All US scientists must take steps now to ensure that their international colleagues are safe.

This was a wonderful interview with @steveinskeep.bsky.social, and it reminded me of this plaque outside the state government building in Indianapolis, marking Lincoln passing once again through Indiana, bearing a message that is especially important today.

This post and thread is a great example of the complete lack of nuance and good-faith discussion in modern discourse - yelling in each other's direction on social media instead of talking. Yes, Trump is an economic idiot, but also yes there is American Champagne. More facts, less bluster please.

Some great loaves this weekend.

Four batches going today, I may be working something out today through breadmaking…

Hitler dismantled a democracy in 53 days. On day 53 of the illegal Trump administration, We The People claim our power to dismantle this presidency! Make history with us on the National Mall today, 3.14! The #NowDC #VeteransMarch livestream starts here at 12:15 p ET www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeIi...

Seen on my run this morning. Sometimes we need to be reminded that whatever differences we may have, we all are loved. Even robots.

Dear ICE employees and contractors: helping to arrest and deport hard-working immigrants - who do the crappy jobs nobody else will - does not improve our society. They are not a drain on the economy, YOU are. Resign and find or create a job that contributes to society instead of detracting from it.

President Zelenskyy, The vast majority of Americans are fully sickened to our core by the violence visited upon you every day, with help from our President and his party. johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/to-preside...

Yes Todd, ALL children are welcome and safe in Indiana classrooms; your hate is NOT.

I’ve been reading “Mindf*ck” by Christopher Wylie about Cambridge Analytica, and it’s clear that the electorate has been absolutely undermined by data mining and targeted advertising, to the point that anyone with the money and lack of scruples can sway votes and public opinion however they want.

Weekend baking: more garlic and rosemary sourdough boules for FoodNotBombs (seemed to go well last week) and Parmesan baguettes. Not my greatest shaping job but they have character 😝.

"Cutting off fundamental, curiosity-driven science is like eating the seed corn. We may have a little more to eat next winter, but what will we plant so we and our children will have enough to get through the winters to come?" - Carl Sagan #standupforscience2025 #HoosierSky

Reports of the secret service shooting an armed man from Indiana outside the White House this morning. Just last night we were discussing how this country is a powder keg of desperate people who are not being heard by their representatives. They don’t care about us, we need to care for each other.

especially listen to those the most different from you, for they have the most to teach you

Awesome turnout for International Women’s Day at the statehouse in Indianapolis. Diverse people, with diverse voices, but a single message: This is what democracy looks like, and the people - all people - will not be silenced or marginalized. #InternationalWomensDay #Indianapolis

@gbosslet.bsky.social #GoodTrouble 'Stand Up for Science' protestors march at Indiana Statehouse More than 170 protests across the country are calling on lawmakers to "defend science."

Dogs with signs standing up for science are my new favorite thing (sorry kitty). Here’s a couple more spotted today: Denver: bsky.app/profile/dunn... Honolulu: bsky.app/profile/stev... #standupforscience2025 #dogswithsigns #dogsagainstdoge #sciencelabs

WRTV had a nice segment on today’s #standupforscience2025 rally in Indianapolis. https://www.wrtv.com/news/local-news/hundreds-participate-in-stand-up-for-science-demonstration-at-state-capitol
