Saw a Miyamoto-signed Switch on eBay and looked at the description, as Miyamoto signed stuff is so rare there's always some story (if it's authentic). Turns out that in 2019 Miyamoto took a trip to Nashville and set up a private concert with a bluegrass video game cover band called Hit Points.

the zoot suit Samus meme is interesting because Tom & Jerry's Hep Kats (1943) is really the first "metroidvania." The early route into the girl's house is closed off, so Tom has to collect pieces of more powerful gear and then backtrack. I am making this post specifically to piss off 2-3 game devs.

Just finished up Echoes of Wisdom and in the last hour the plot turns into Final Fantasy V?

I was sadly unable to participate this year but this is a great livestream for a great cause. Support this journal of gaming history!

I'm on vacation, and took a side trip to a very large retro game store in Sparks, Nevada. Cool place, nice owner, tons of stuff. Found it very interesting to see this sign placed prominently on a counter:

Finally! We've been hard at work on all three of these for a while now, and they're almost here! Don't sleep on that Karateka collection if you are a @jmechner.bsky.social fan - the journal is an all-new illustrated version, and the CD is pretty great as well!

Love beds. Making bed stairs all day

This was such a fun stream! I had so much fun geeking out with @kohler.bsky.social about Tetris. If you missed it when it aired on Twitch this morning, you can check out the VOD here: www.twitch.tv/videos/23831...

ok how about FIFTEEN dollars for one of the best games of last year, does that work for you

Looking forward to seeing my extraordinary friend Alexa kill it at GDC!

Minor miracle at a Las Vegas game store: the final issue we needed to complete our run of Tips & Tricks magazine. I think this one must be especially rare for some reason, there's a guy on the Retromags forums with a $300 bounty who ALSO had this as the last one he needed.

It's 12 days until @romchip.bsky.social's big annual fundraiser and we're gonna spend each day of it highlighting *exactly* what you're donating for: the one-of-a-kind game history research you can only find in our (virtual) pages. Read on 🔍 game on 🎮 and give if you can 💸 donate.romchip.org

Kendrick Lamar is the one standing on the car. "Lamar on la car" is a good mnemonic for this

They should have the captains repick the teams for next half. Mix it up a bit

"now let's see how they respond" idk, probably try to score some points for themselves

👀

um this is VERY bad advice, sign

For me, this is kinda wild. A game I worked on about 4 years ago that sat dormant for a long time is finally being released. I worked with my friends at Choice Provisions in Breakout Beyond, and we all chat about it here: m.youtube.com/watch?v=FIpX...

Hi! If you play Tetris Time Warp, I have some good news! I've made quite a few updates to the game that I think you'll enjoy. Sure, there are a few bug fixes, but some pretty cool improvements all around. Really looking forward to getting it out there soon!
