I pray that you always return to me to refresh my memories of how you giggle, of how you stand on your tip-toes to kiss me, and how you so tenderly stroke my hair. I must believe that you will, or go insane. And until you do return, I will not wash the scent from these sheets. And I will remember.

The transience of memory, combined with the scarcity of things worth remembering, utterly terrifies me. I live in fear that I will one day forget the feeling of your skin, the sound of your voice when you laugh, and the things you used it to say to me. I remember them as often as I can.
