I'll never get people highlighting shovelware as some sort of negative towards a console's library, as if it dilutes its overall quality. Shovelware is a consequence of success, you only get shovelware if your platform is a hit. It's not the PS2, DS & Wii's fault they sold so much.

Calling old game design decisions "outdated" to where they're not used in newer games anymore (like lives and continues, permadeath, tank controls etc...) is holding back the industry and leads to most newer games feeling samey. We should look back to the past as a lesson, not with rejection.
