This is a trommel I made out of someone old bike rims and some hardware cloth. I use it to sift compost it works really well. It works even better if you have two people doing it (one shoveling and one turning the trommel). 🌱 #gardening

If you grow milkweed, you'll run into Oncopeltus fasciatus (large milkweed bug). Shown here (nymphs) on Asclepias incarnata (swamp milkweed), they can breed in large numbers & severely damage seed production in addition to outcompeting monarch caterpillars. #gardens #gardening #insects #milkweed

How about some garden weird? This is Fuligo septica (dog vomit slime mold). Slime molds are odd enough, but this species emerges bright yellow like this and within 12 or so hours has released spores, loses color and loses form. #gardens #gardening #protosts #SlimeMolds #WeirdGardens
