My dogs went ballistic barking when the garbage truck came by to empty the dumpster. So I’ve spent weeks joining them at the patio door, repeating in a high happy voice, “Oh, look! The friends are here! The friends are emptying the dumpster!”—all the while shoveling treats into the dogs’ mouths.
