Dear Dems. This is a reminder that Donald Trump rescinded the ethics rules preventing gifts to executive branch employees. Now would be a good time to propose legislation formalizing the prevention into a law Time to do things that make him react to you. apnews.com/article/trum...

(📢) MAJOR BREAKING NEWS: The Daily Beast publishes a sourced allegation that Trump has been a Russian spy since 1987 and then—possibly under some form of threat—deletes it. But in an act of unusual heroism, it left it up long enough for Wayback Machine to capture it text. Here it is (please share):

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

Donald Trump Recruited as Moscow Asset, says Ex-KGB Spy Chief. www.kyivpost.com/post/47630

"Most Americans don’t want to believe that their government is taking lifesaving medicine away from sick people in Africa, or betraying Afghans who sacrificed for this country" But it is. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...

Crockett: He went from being the dork that was jumping around on stage to allegedly being this amazing genius that's gonna save a country he wasn't born in, and one that maybe he doesn't agree w/the idea of a democratic republic, considering the fact he may have been more on the side of apartheid.

Highlighting how unpatriotic Trump/Musk/Vance's moves are is a great frame for Democrats. Talk about how a great nation doesn't turn its back on its responsibilities to its veterans or on science, or cozy up to Putin. Talk about how they're not reflecting what America is.

They were never going to lower prices. They never cared about egg prices. It's the same lie as CRT. They want us chasing their bullshit while the real mission is to disassemble the government so the rich can get richer. They are on a mission to destroy it all. It's beyond a coup.

If Republicans say “the top problems are Bidenflation and immigration” and Democrats say “the top problems is democracy” and then voters, when asked, say “the top problems are Bidenflation and immigration,” it doesn’t mean Democrats “aren’t listening,” it means Republicans have the louder megaphone

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful. They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone. Don't fall for it.

Posting here a thread by Stathis N. Kalyvas, who is not yet in BlueSky:

History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me." Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.

That’s nothing. I found 13 contracts awarded to SpaceX since December totaling $77M. 1/

This is real. They want more planes crashes.

We are under attack by these people.

The world’s richest man appears to be dismantling the government with an eye toward consolidating power and punishing his political enemies, Charlie Warzel writes. Will it work?
