Vaccines are amazing!! Go science!

Dear scientists at US universities: Trump/Musk continue to freeze your grants. NIH is not reviewing grants nor funding them in council. This is a backhanded, legal method to effectively stop NIH grants. See thread and linked article. Are we going to “keep our heads down” about this?

#MutualAid for 🔭 affected by the illegal firings and attacks on 🧪 by the Trump-Musk administration! Thanks to all involved in organizing this ✊🏽 www.choircollaboration.com/mutual-aid

Join us! Science Homecoming helps scientists reconnect with communities by writing about the importance of science funding in their hometown newspapers. We’ve mapped every small newspaper in the U.S. and provide resources to get you started. Help science get back home 🧪🔬🧬 🏠 sciencehomecoming.com

Yes! These cuts will undermine research and critical treatments. Also remember: these programs MAKE money, driving economic growth in every state. An excellent return on investment.

Saw a second #WomenInSTEM looking specifically for a job overseas. In case people who aren't in STEM were wondering if we are being hyperbolic when we say the current administration's actions will result in a brain drain in research in the US, we aren't.

I was hoping that my first bsky post would be more cheerful. I recently joined NIH (NIEHS) as a PO. I fought hard for this position and was so excited to support health science from a new vantage point… I picked up my life and moved to NC. Unfortunately, my time at NIEHS was short lived.

ATTENTION (PLEASE SHARE) If anyone has or knows of any positions that might be appropriate for the NIH staff members who were terminated, please post the information in this thread. There are lots of talented and accomplished people who may be looking for new opportunities.

Seems kinda crazy to be working in this NIH grant application in the weekend ‘superpower’ time. But I can’t let some ketamine-riddled billionaire tell me my life’s work is waste. I’m helping babies goddammit!! 🧪

Timeline cleanse, desperately needed. #Sewing

Academic science relies on so much unpaid labor that I can’t understand how we were sold the message it was wasting money. 🧪
