10 years ago today I walked out of the hospital after surviving Ebola. Back then I begged the world to strengthen our response to that crisis and prepare for others. I’ve been reflecting on what we’ve learned over the last decade. And the role of the U.S. in global health🧵

Yes. See thread below for resources. Measles has an R0 of 12-18. That means every person with the measles infects 12-18 other people. Growing up in the early 1990s, the ozone hole was a big environmental problem we all learned about. The world took action and the problem is receding. See also, US air and water pollution pre-EPA. Climate change is obviously a much harder problem to solve. But we can. And we must.
