Any idea what this is? Code, an unusual writing system, or just a doodle? They remind me of one of those logic tests where you have to point out which set of lines and dotes logically comes next, but this is an entry in an early nineteenth-century guest book.

A bit of an underrated and often overlooked bird, despite being colourful and extremely noisy: the nuthatch (boomklever) can be heard in every park and forest here right now. This one landed next to me and watched me closely for a while. #birds
