Opinion: When a cop is found guilty of a crime, every person incarcerated bc of that cop’s testimonies throughout their time in a badge should get a retrial based on newfound evidence of reasonable doubt. It’s a small step towards accountability, but it’s more than we currently have. (Cont.)

When we plan aloud, they plan silently. When we’re silent, they make a ruckus to stir us up so they can hear us planning. “Mama/papa bears” will “rip out throats if someone messes with their kid,” but will they teach them empathy and integrity? You don’t get a medal for protecting your kids. That’s your job. Maybe consider teaching them the importance of responsibility and accountability.
