Maybe this isn’t the place to post this sort of thing but I’m going to anyway. My only child husband was tapped to coach girl’s JV water polo years ago. To better understand young women, he read all the Jane Austin books. I heard there is to be a new #TedLasso season of him coaching a women’s team.

Weekend animal picture. It rained last night and Luke is exhausted. And filthy.

My #FridayFlower today is a Viginia dogwood. They are not doing as well as the redbuds did this year because of early heat and extremely dry conditions. I think they look like little spotlights in the woods the way the absorb light. The exude both softness of color and strength in their presence.

I'm good with all that.

Gélineau advanced the term "narcolepsy" in 1880 while de la Tourette described his eponymous syndrome in 1885. "Autism" was coined by Bleuler in 1911, with full diagnoses soon after. But what do I know? I'm not the Cabinet secretary in charge of the goddamn Department of Health and Human Services.

Finally got a tree peony to stay alive long enough to flower.

Do you know who, protected by our Constitution, received due process? The man who blew up a Federal building & day care center, killing 200. And the man who helped plan the 9/11 flights. And the man who killed my sister. If you want due process to apply to you and yours, it has to apply to EVERYONE.

Someone, who very closely resembles Peeves, spent the night polishing his halo. Today’s hack went into new territory, dealt with winter tree and gate damage, difficult gate to open and close, unknown horses, conversation checks and he was nothing short of perfect. I love this horse. 😍

Found this. I endorse the message 💯

#FridayFlowers The red tulip photo was taken in the early morning and again in the early afternoon. The heat of today and tomorrow spells the end of tulip season.

Breaking: Senator Van Hollen meets with Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador

It's the tail end of tulip season in the garden.

A few flower pics for @bettiekae.bsky.social

Weekend critter: the child rests. He brings me peace.

Redbuds this year have been spectacular.

If Scott Bessent thinks the economy is in great shape, he has no business being Treasury Secretary.

My head is exploding. Time to get on a horse for a couple hours of mental rest.

This is more important than the markets plummeting.

And here we go... Those of us who retired and live off investment and SS know this is a one man made market disaster.

We are not the ones without humanity. However, the government perpetrates these activities “in the name of the people.” Most of us no longer wish to be included in that declaration.

The winter coat is shedding and his summer coat is growing in. Lots of meditative currying every day. He was a bit of a child on today’s ride. The spring ya-ya yippies during an uphill canter are always fun for the senior citizen rider. Ibuprofen to the rescue!

My favorite time of year in the garden.

It is spring. Flowers are happy. Dogs are happy. And a pipe is broken near the well head. I’m trying to stay balanced between All The Things and beauty.

Will tax cuts equalize the drop in stock market value since the new administration arrived? Just asking.

Weekend animal picture: Horses in the distance. The cherry trees were buzzing with very happy bees.

Someone tell DOGE! Brutal photo by huff post i love it

Once again, I forgot my weekend animal picture. Here is Peeves, my favorite goober who keeps me entertained and sane in this complex world.

I've been off FB for a couple weeks now and have to say, I almost instantly felt better after deactivating my account. I miss being able to check on my friends after severe weather activity and sharing pictures and stories of my horses and flowers, but really, really don't miss feeling manipulated.

I forgot to post my pet of the weekend photo. This is George, my barn cat. He keeps my tack room and barn free of mice.

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much
