Ukraine deserves so much better than it is getting from this administration. Absolutely shameful.

Today PosiGen, Solar Alternatives, and Empowered by Light held a ribbon cutting for a solar+storage project for the New Orleans VFW Post! It will save them $1,400 and provide continuous backup power during storms and outages so the VFW Post can continue serve the community.

This is 100% true. Utilities are in an all out war to stop Chair Gillett’s renomination. We NEED bold leadership at PUCs.

Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks: "We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people....Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us."

Hey @nytimes.com, what the hell is this? Seriously? Trying to normalize the constitutional crisis as something that crosses party lines?

i just cannot get over how much the administration’s response to the crash shows a profound disrespect for the lives of the people they are supposed to serve

I’m pretty concerned that OMB is asking for Treasury to report on its tax credits as part of this illegal pause. They cannot just stop/prohibit the use of congressionally-authorized tax credits! #EnergySky💡🔌

Secretary Yellen is so impressive and has had a storied career in service of the public. It was one of the highlights of my career so far getting to spend even a little time with her talking about the massive impact the Inflation Reduction Act has had on LMI communities.

Big news in PosiGen world! While there is a lot of uncertainty, we continue to put our heads down every day to make solar accessible to all.

Who wants this?? Who is looking at the social media/internet landscape, where meaningful engagement is already challenging, and decided that “let’s add more bots” was the answer?

Innovation through collaboration. Happy @poptartsbowl.bsky.social day.

Today my Christmas-loving 4yo got really sad/scared and demanded the tv be turned off today when the cartoon Frosty the Snowman came alive. Gotta get to the bottom of went wrong here…

Mood:

An unelected billionaire was crowned co-President by the Republican Party. They’ve given him the influence to make a damn post that throws a spending bill into limbo cause House Republicans are scared of him. No greater example of oligarchy. Where the ultra-wealthy run the show.

Really is amazing we’ve had six weeks of takes about how Trump “remade the GOP” and no we’re getting: enormous corporate tax cuts; huge cuts to the social safety net and privatization.

having successfully persuaded people that the nation’s economy is the worst it has ever been, they are going to encouraging their buddies to loot the nation and say it is the only way we can get investment

The thing to remember is Musk and Trump don’t even think or care about anyone impacted by their actions. It’s just a game to them. In their mind, we are all pawns and disposable in service of their latest whims. It’s horrifying.

So true! We do not simply need to accept that costs will always go up for ratepayers. Utilities of course will always ask for rates to go up, but the regulator doesn’t need to agree with that paradigm!

I worry that the belief that the IRA energy credits will be safe risks complacency. I think they ultimately will be preserved, but that is going to be because of the hard work a lot of folks will do over the coming months, not because they were not at real risk in the first place.

This is what I am really struggling with. None of it mattered? The policies, the messaging, the disastrous, incoherent, and bizarre Trump campaign - none it mattered.

I will say that having my daughter’s fourth birthday be today was a real challenge. Big swings from doing normal fun birthday stuff and then remembering how bleak the next few years look.

I am struggling how you move forward in an information environment where literally nothing matters.

Feels like it’s gonna get real bad with a lot of pain and damage to our country. Maybe we come out the other side of that, maybe we don’t. Just insane how dangerous this situation is.

I will never understand how this wasn’t the end of Trump.

They are comfortable being open fascists at this point. You cannot believe in democracy while also believing this is a legitimate action. Terrifying.

It is insane that Trump’s apparent fascination with using tariffs to replace all taxes isn’t a bigger story. It would be an economic disaster and is extremely radical!

So jarring to hear him say, to members of his cult of personality, “I will give you back your life.” Yeah, he might when he dies or loses again. He has turned so many good people into bitter, angry, and fearful people. It’s gross.

Just an incredibly presidential speech! VP Harris is providing an extremely clear, patriotic, and hopeful vision for the future. I cannot believe how we got here, but damn this is something else.

the last few months really have been one of the most extraordinary sequence of events in american political history. like, no exaggeration whatsoever

I think we need to be more judicious in how we use the phrase “our aging electric grid” so we don’t implicitly play into utility capex bias. Sure, it aging (and it always will be), but that doesn’t mean the solution is only more capital investment.

Snow penguins! Really enjoying this snowstorm so far, particularly that our power has not gone out.

It is still so disheartening that in the immediate aftermath of Jan 6, the Senate refused to remove Trump from office and break the fever. It was the cleanest way through (and probably best electorally for Rs!), and they screwed it up.

This was me all Thanksgiving weekend. Upgrading our electric resistance water heater (that the previous owner had replaced not too long ago) would probably save between $700-$900 a year, making the payback less than 2 years after state and federal incentives.
