my favorite chinese restaurant by my house changed over to a sushi place in the spring. was very sad because their mapo tofu was amazing. well, it turns out it's now a shared thing. you can get sushi/japanese or chinese. i think maybe the same owners or same family.

oh good, they're using the oakland coliseum for something useful. when i lived in san jose, every sunday morning, there was a cricket match at the park up the street from my house. with the number of south east asians in the bay area, i'm surprised it's taken this long.

had sinus lift to insert a dental implant to set a crown for the molar that was extracted because i cracked it from grinding my teeth. Hey Kids-wear your night guards if you got 'em! Local numbing is wearing off and i'll be spending the next few days poking the implant/stitches with my tongue.

owner at new barn gets that hay flakes vary in weight, so she has the staff weigh hay to feed. i have hay nets, so make up the nets for my boys and i weigh them. owner says they're going thru bales too quickly. ummm... bales vary in weight too. i don't get the disconnect.

Picked up a loaf of Beckmanns Great White sliced bread. Made toast this morning, one slice with amazing French butter and my apricot cardamom jam and one slice with cottage cheese and the jam. The cottage cheese actually dulled the flavor of the jam. How??? This bread is so good!

need to go to the grocery store yet again to pick up frozen peas to use as ice pack for my face post oral surgery tomorrow. this will make 4th trip in a week. this is why i can't live out in the middle of nowhere and why lockdown was such a hassle. i'm very bad at planning for food, even with lists.

sliced up 2lbs of green onions, bagged and thrown into freezer. couldn't find my swim goggles so had to settle for safety googles. def better than nothing, but eyes are still a little ick.

2 of the mara des bois strawberries were red, so i picked and ate them. definitely yum! probably could have spent another day or 2 on the plant, but i didn't want to chance having the birds get at them.

the costco spiral ham with glaze and salt lick bbq coleslaw is a really good combo. salt lick bbq coleslaw is basically a vinegar and sugar version but with toasted sesame seeds. the wife of the founder of the bbq joint is hawaiian/japanese, hence the asian twist.
