Serious question: How can the Canadian Press continue allowing Postmedia to use its wire stories after making unauthorized changes to stories that run under its journalists bylines like this?

Bezan rails that the Liberals “gutted” the military. He was parliamentary secretary for the minister of defence when the Conservatives cut military spending to below 1% of GDP. #QP

Canadian man reading date never knows which is day and which is month unless day is above 12

I feel like if you polled most NDP MPs on what their priorities are, at the top would be "opposing the Liberals." And I also feel like if you polled most NDP voters, that would be near the bottom for all but their most hardcore partisans and ideologues.

Mark Carney’s favourability among NDP voters is 26 points higher than that of Don Davies: Mark Carney: 69% Don Davies: 43% The NDP’s move this week was out of touch. Instead of talking tough, the party needs to think about what’s best for Canadians.

Billionaire bemoans buying election for ungrateful pedophile

I'm just glad one of these men has the nuclear codes and the other has all our personal data.

Much like when Singh withdrew from the supply and confidence agreement, this just showed everyone that the NDP cares more about being anti-Liberal than about achieving any of their progressive goals or listening to what people want from them.

Bill 5 has been stalled in committee thanks to the efforts of Ted Hsu and the Ontario Liberal caucus. Over 4000 amendments and counting. Amazing use of legislative power, I’m so proud of them.

God forbid we invest in education and research - orders of magnitude better contributors to the economy than all this bullshit.

guys we HAVE to get rid of DEI. it’s about FAIRNESS

Premiers united in belief that the best way to stand up to Trump is doing what they’ve always wanted to do anyways

Happy #Pride, Canada! We’re looking forward to celebrating this Pride Season with you, all across the country.

Honestly, We The Media keep falling for these bullshit narratives. The school likely can't comment because of privacy issues, other than saying that the family "present a distorted account of the situation and omit important context." So the family's (likely false) narrative carries the day. 1/

It's nice to have an MP who acts and engages with respect and dignity. Can only imagine what nonsense comments Ryan Williams would have made if he were still MP.

"So, then he lost his seat!"

It’s worth a reminder that the same people who claim schools have sexually explicit books in their libraries once told us the same schools have litter boxes for kids who “identify as cats.” These people lie. A lot. #ableg #abpoli

Nearly two years ago, in September of 2023, Doug Ford made a promise. Just wondering if anyone has moved into their 1,600-square-foot home, with a finished basement, a backyard with a fence, and a paved driveway. Did you pay less than $500,000 for your home like Doug promised?

Old enough to remember this from the new U.S. ambassador to Canada: “From my standpoint, from the president’s standpoint, 51st state’s not coming backs.” (Ten days ago.) www.nytimes.com/2025/05/17/w...

To be fair to CPC voters, it's probably hard to have a favourable impression of the King when you also believed Romana Didulo is the "Real Queen of Canada"

"Liberal MPs decided against adopting the Reform Act during their caucus meeting Sunday, which means they won't be able to vote out the newly-elected leader if they sour on him down the line." No. That is absolutely wrong. Could a single fucking journalist in this country learn some basic civics?

Dear Humans, Here’s how it’s going to play out: 1. Republicans are going to attack Joe Biden until his last day and giddily celebrate his passing. 2. Then when Donald Trump inevitably passes away, and the world celebrates, these same people will feign outrage until the end of time. They suck.

“Pierre Poilievre tapped into rage—not reality.” – Matthew Green He blames “socialism” for problems rooted in unchecked capitalism. That’s why we need public media like CBC—to cut through the fury and report the facts. #SaveTheCBC #PoilievreExposed #CBCForever #CdnPoli

Once you realize that you're only temporarily "abled", and disability is in almost everyone's future, it charges how you see the world.

The correct answer is E. Ontario under Doug Ford is now spending 35% more AFTER INFLATION than was the "spendthrift" Wynne regime. It's not austerity. It's piss-poor spending choices and an inability to manage the public sector.

Feds bought & built TMX. Complain about the cost but it’s operating. They delivered. This was supposed to be a bargain. Tidewater in exchange for meaningful reductions in GHGs. Has the oil industry delivered there? That’s the starting point for discussions about further pipelines. #ableg #cdnpoli

The one where the George Costanza of Canadian politics goes to work where he’s no longer employed and acts like he’s supposed to be there.

All I know for sure is thank goodness we don’t have to go to sleep tonight worried that tomorrow we’d hear stuff like “And Andrew Scheer appointed Minister of Finance” or “Michelle Ferrari appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.”

Bring IT home 😌

I’m really beginning to resent Danielle Smith for making Doug Ford look less incompetent.

"We're going to spend the summer listening carefully to people," Poilievre said, on his way into one of his safe space echo chambers to listen only to people who think he's great.

There it is…

Conservatives double down and pick older, whiter man

New column from me at Loonie Politics: The thing about official party status #cdnpoli

The reason so many Canadians increasing feel like “fuck Alberta” when they hear this shit is that Alberta separatism is driven my greed and climate denial above anything else. They can’t claim some unique cultural or linguistic reasons like Quebec (whose separation I also don’t support).

I have studied Ontario #vaccine data extensively. I am not aware of a single death in Ontario attributed either partly or entirely to a #covid #mRNA vaccination. That's for a province of 15 million with thorough vaccine safety monitoring and well over 40 million covid vaccinations.

lol this guy is gonna let Pierre take his job and his pension and stay with him while they campaign together and then Pierre is gonna disappear back to Stornoway and never be seen in that riding again. what a loser.

This would be hilarious.

One last question, Mr. Poilievre. The Conservatives are known to often talk about meritocracy ... about people earning their jobs...

Poilievre to run for by-election in safe rural Alberta riding, after rural Texas riding not available #cdnpoli

in less than a week, two conservative opposition leaders in australia and canada who tried to win their elections on anti-woke platforms (with an air of You Know Who) have not only lost their elections, but lost their *seats* as well. yikes. www.reuters.com/world/asia-p...

Fixed it for you, Pierre.

Poilievre seeking a safe seat in Alberta puts the lie to the idea that he is the guy to broaden the appeal of the party. Can't win in a seat he has held for two decades... and clearly believes he can't win anywhere other than the hotbed of grievance Conservatism. It sends a hell of a signal.

It’s those first four words that made me know he didn’t write this himself.

So even though Canada said "no," the CPC is still trying to force it's pathetic PP on us?
