I wish media did a better job framing “scaling laws” for lay folks. they’re empirical best-fit models on a log scale. 10% more data doesn’t help you, you need 10x.

If you're running into this problem (not having sufficient access to local public library books), the Queens Public Library offers out of state access for $50 (basically for this reason). I obviously haven't used it so don't know the details but worth looking into. qpl.libanswers.com/faq/375079
