My latest piece for @teenvogue.com delves into the horrific story of popular skincare ingredient Retin-A. Before Retin-A was approved by the FDA in 1971, it had been tested on hundreds of incarcerated Black people in Philadelphia, without their informed consent. The survivors still bear the scars.

This does *not* mean no flu shots in the US next year - not by itself, anyway. The WHO picked and published their recommended strains as always. This year. It’s an A/H1N1, an A/H3N2, and a B/Austria (+ a B/Phuket for quadrivalent shots*). US manufacturers *can* still use the WHO guidelines.

Regarding www.reuters.com/world/us/us-... : I mentioned this on Twitter a while back, but it is worth describing here, too. In 2022, I got a notice from the IRS saying that we owed ~$76K in taxes, plus penalties, from 2021. I thought it was a scam at first. It was a real letter, though.
