If only we had someone, a Chief Justice so to speak, who was in precisely the position to stand up for an independent judiciary by publicly refusing the request on behalf of all judicial branch employees. Oh well!

Lol. My department just sent out an email saying not to reply to Musk's "What did you do last week?" email until they receive guidance. Some have received it, I have not.

The reply email inbox for this “what did you do last week” email is [email protected], so, you know, definitely don’t send them any unrelated messages that would interfere with their ability to carry out Elon’s dumbass bullshit

This is how I would respond to the email Musk has had sent to government employees (not legal advice). 1. Refused to violate the law. 2. Refused to violate the Constitution. 3. Refused to bow or scrape. 4. Refused to bend a knee. 5. Deleted this stupid email.

I'm complying in advance and dropping my personal DEI policies. Moving ahead, I will say "Fuck off and die, you tiny dicked premature ejaculating CSAM obsessed Nazi losers" to unqualified rich white men only* *actually it was the rule all along

Oh, this could be fun. Either everyone doesn’t respond and he fires the entire federal government or federal workers send in the most ridiculous responses they can imagine…such as I spent the entire week at home in my pjs trying out new brownie recipes. Musk is higher than a kite today.

Since I’ve been getting this a lot - if you feel like supporting me by buying a jersey or something, I would rather you make a donation to Trans Lifeline or The Trevor Project www.thetrevorproject.org

Pay attention to this. Replacing JAGs with loyalists enables whatever orders Trump and Hegseth issue to be interpreted as lawful.

To become a general in the military, it typically takes around 20-30 years of service, with most individuals needing a significant amount of experience and leadership roles throughout their career before reaching this rank.  General C.Q Brown had to go above and beyond this requirement.

All politics is economics. If the Supreme Court Citizens United decision grants more political power to those with more money, then to defeat them, it is essential that we target the sources of their wealth. Yes, that means you should sell your Tesla and get off X. open.substack.com/pub/davidrot...

Do it, Do it now

Happy to see on Reddit for Military members they are discussing “lawful orders.” If you aren’t following these Reddit conversations you are missing insights into how some of our military members are feeling about the state of things. There are separate groups for the Army, Navy, etc.

Why did Hegseth just fire every top military branch lawyer? What did they refuse to sign off on? A Pulitzer awaits the reporters and outlet who can tell the public.

This is key to understanding the building outrage & backlash that extends way beyond the hurt of those fired. Firing people for no reason is brutal & loathsome but the even larger overall offense is wiping out all the fired people’s jobs with them, all the purposes & needs & value those jobs serve.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

Extortion, pure and simple.

🚨BREAKING: Federal Court GRANTS sweeping nationwide injunction against Trump DEI executive orders finding that they violate First and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution. A huge victory for @democracyforward.org and its clients. A stinging loss for Trump. Visit www.democracydocket.com for details.

I hope the rest of the world wakes up to this quickly. Trump will side with Putin against our allies and the free world. The US is going to the dark side and can no longer be trusted to defend democracies or keep our commitments. This is sad and shameful, but obvious and inevitable.

So much kleptocracy right out in the open. Let’s just call them what they are…thieves.

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

Powerful. Tomorrow’s front page of the most influential weekly publication in Germany. “BETRAYED. First Zelensky, Soon Us? The radical departure of the US from its allies.”

Some updates: 1. A federal judge extended a restraining order blocking the National Institutes of Health from cutting research funds until she rules on a permanent injunction. 2. The IRS will not allow a member of Elon Musk’s team to access individual tax returns.

They keep showing us exactly who they are.

So how are you feeling about getting on a plane these days? What about publicly expressing criticism of the administration? The risks facing us as Americans are changing in ways I never imagined possible. Fast. My latest. open.substack.com/pub/davidrot...

Some of DOGE is retribution, some is corruption, some is incompetence, some is a mix of those, but this is destruction for destruction's sake. It's undermining American science, industry, and commerce just because they can.

Another catastrophe. But how does he have the power to do any of this?

We are now finding bird flu in deer mice and house mice in Washington State. H5N1 is advancing along the evolutionary ladder—affecting birds, mammals, and humans. This is not speculation; it’s a timeline.

Fucking unbelievable😡 DOGE, canceled a $275,000 contract for 9/11-related cancer research. The contract paid for data processing to compare cancer incidence rates among firefighters exposed to the WTC toxins with firefighters who were not exposed in other cities. www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news...
