I mean this without a shred of irony: The basic principles of democracy demand that Republicans who have bowed to these threats resign immediately. Their seats should be considered empty until new elections can be held

I regret voting for Klobath, Demon of Hate and Murder. I believed him when he said he wouldn’t be hating and murdering.

This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights. He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.

Now that musk is saying he’s doing the DOGE stuff “because the globalists have plotted a Great Replacement in which they use government handouts to buy votes from illegal immigrants and urban blacks” maybe we don’t have to act like this is about deficits or cost cutting anymore

"I am finally free." Leonard Peltier walked out of prison today at 8:40am, nearly 50 years after the U.S. govt lied to put him there. New statement from Peltier, along with photos of him moments after leaving prison, in the sun, happy. www.huffpost.com/entry/leonar...

This current moment right now feels suspiciously like someone whose only concern is staying out of prison and is literally letting everyone else around him do whatever they want, all this chaos from people seizing the chance to fill the power vacuum seems to naturally follow

We must fight for small town values and our traditional way of life, which mostly consists now of substance abuse and buying various abominations made of corn from the dollar general

I wish all that money and energy around corporate DEI had been funneled into labor organizing, strike funds, and worker education instead; that’s how you actually change a workplace

The "large scale social deception" contract Musk is conspiracizing about was: * first awarded under Trump * paid to Reuters' data division, not the newsroom * for researching *defenses* against deception * not revealed by "DOGE investigations" and was a public record, visible online for many years

The Partition of India displaced 20 million people, killed almost 2 million & created a refugee crisis whose effects are still in play over 70 years later, if you actually think it's a model for anything but massive catastrophe, you should not only not be employed here you should be in a padded cell

It reinforces a belief of mine that these people consider you powerful *if you can make them feel bad*, it violates some bizarre autonomy and flattens out all power relationships for them. I can *make* you lose your job, but you can *make* me feel bad, those are the same levels of coercion.

Pretty telling that the comparison here is “someone scolding you via a video you saw on Facebook that you found annoying” and “complete disregard for legal protections and long standing peaceful cooperation between nations”. It’s actually pretty accurate to how conservatives view the world

This is poor analysis and I wish people would accept that some Americans can be bad because they’re bad, not because they’ve been compromised by foreign actors. Sometimes a Republican is just shitty!

Oh that’s easy - the Republican base is so mad that they were told to make a sacrifice during COVID to save lives that they’re fully dedicated to removing anyone’s ability to tell them that again and they don’t care what goes with it. It’s a party of spoiled children who don’t want to listen to mom.

"why can republican presidents do anything they want and democratic presidents can't get anything done" like it's very very stupid to me that this is the case, but 90% of the answer is the supreme court being controlled by the conservative psycho gang of six

The first Senators to actually do anything about the Trump admin

I think even in the media there is a certain realization palpable that having Trump back isn't as fun and cooky as they thought it would be.

We need to silence conservative voices.

I just wanna point out that it wouldn’t be hysterical or dramatic or a stretch or biased in any way for major news orgs to state plainly that a president who immediately blames all of the country’s ills, including a random plane crash, on “diversity” is a white supremacist

We did not have a FAA administrator to respond to the tragic crash last night in DC. Why? Because Elon Musk pushed the head appointed under Biden to resign after he fined SpaceX for failing to follow safety license requirements. www.theverge.com/news/603113/...

"dei" AND "woke" are both terms that have been co-opted by the right for their own means and get parroted by the media because it's easy, even if the right keeps using them maybe the media should stop and tell their readers/viewers exactly what the administration mean when they use those terms

1) The entire basis of MAHA is BS. Make America Healthy Again implies there was some idyllic past in which all Americans were in great health and just ate fruit they pulled off of trees or whatever. It's garbage.

this is what "small government" is. "big government" is preventing plane crashes and having the resources to respond to one when it happens. "small government" is the guy from real world leading the response team while the president blames black people for plane crashes act accordingly

HAUL HIM IN FRONT OF CONGRESS, CSPAN, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND ALL THE FUCKING GODS AND ASK HIM WITH WHAT AUTHORITY HE HAD TO TELL THE HEAD OF THE FAA TO RESIGN

Normalizing spelling out what people actually mean when they cite DEI rather than letting them hide behind the safe cover of a euphemism that's been sapped of meaning

Dear the Media, When something bad happens in an area under the executive branch's purview, and the White House goes "uh... a Black or gay person must've done it," you do not need to accept that. You're allowed to follow up in pursuit of the factual reason, not the bigoted excuse. Love, The public

If you don’t hear the N word every time a Republican says “DEI” you’re lying to yourself.

only appropriate political response here is to demand the white house explain how its actions aren’t responsible www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

Nobody ever promised that voters would be rational. In fact they often aren't. That's why politicians have to appeal to voters emotionally.

A lot of people are criticizing the democrats who signed on to this but think about it this way: Is this law good? No. Is it moral? No. Will it make the country a better place in any way? No. But will it win them swing votes? Also no.

58 Democrats helped Republicans pass the Laken Riley Act, which will enable Trump's ICE to put migrants *accused* of shoplifting in detention, without due process. As in, with Trump's new call to detain 30,000 migrants in Guantanamo, these Democrats may help put them there:

It's not just that so many righties are pedos, it's that right-wing policy is devoted to giving predators easier access to kids.

china was like "oh you got 7 minute abs? here's 6-minute abs" and just wiped a sizable % of US GDP off the market cap. the tech economy is fake

when we live through this and we are safely on the other side, i want everyone - literally everyone - to spend some significant time thinking about what state capacity means and how much of it we should outsource to private companies

Giving anyone in this White House the benefit of the doubt is the mark of a sucker. They lie like they breathe.

It does seem like you generally at least want your entire cabinet to be in place before you attempt your blatantly illegal power grab that will mobilize millions into outrage tbqh.

A fallout of basically everyone thinking Russiagate was stupid is now Democrats think going after Trump is a losing move, instead of realizing they just did it from the dumbest angle possible.
