Most people in the US have no idea about the attacks on federally funded science or our government institutions. Many (or most!) of your family, coworkers, neighbors, and friends have no idea. My own MAGA dad thinks DOGE is just identifying waste, and that nothing has been cut. We have to tell them.

Hard yes and also why we need more creatively trained ASL interpreters because it’s now obvious that it’s more than just an accessibility box to check off, it’s art all on its own. I could watch that ASL performance and FEEL the music, not just read/parse the lyrics.

This is I think a very important distinction between Korean protest and US protests. Not every Korean could go sit out in the cold. Only a fraction actually did. But the community as a whole supported those who went. They bought the coffee and heat packs and arranged practical support.
