Most of my career was focused on overpaid CEOs/Income Inequality. Just started a new job w a local Aging in Place program. I tweet social justice, aging, bargains, books, politics, gardens, adoption, humor, hope. Always curious.

"Once you give up the idea that we're all equal b4 the law & have the right to due process, you've given up the whole game. Once you've replaced the principle of equality b4 the law w the idea that some people have no rights, you've granted approval to the idea of an authoritarian government." HCR

Does everyone feel like they are falling apart or is it just me?

Many years ago I took my then-toddler to the post office to mail taxes on the 15th. I was doing parent prattle & he seemed confused when I said "Look at that big line!" After a few back & forths he opened his mouth wide & roared. He thought I'd said "Lion." Anyway, good luck if you are are in line

The lies they are telling about Garcia now are reminding me of the Comet Pizza fiasco of the first Trump administration. Except now the liars & people who believe the lies are actually in positions of leadership.

I've met this judge. She's a brilliant person w balls of steel. So impressed with her right now.

This is excellent. Liberals & conservatives have tried to do to Jackie Robinson what they've tried to do to Martin Luther King — to de-radicalize them. To turn them into comforting icons of the American way. But their words & deeds tell a different story.

No one in MLB wears #42 anymore—except today, when everyone does. That’s how baseball honors Jackie Robinson. The Pentagon honored him differently: by erasing his WWII service as a 2nd Lieutenant from its website.

It took less than 3 months after Trump pardoned 1,500 of his violent supporters for an arsonist to attempt to kill a top Dem in Josh Shapiro. America has too many lost boys like Cody Ballmer, and too many politicians ready to hand them a lit match My new column www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

Always fun to catch up on my goodreads posting. Of what I've read recently I would most highly recommend "There’s Always This Year: on Basketball and Ascension" by Hanif Abdurraqib. Just brilliant on Columbus, and if you knew about basketball you'd probably even like it more.

pretty crazy watching the american president on live tv in the oval office planning the construction of concentration camps in a foreign country to house americans

I'm starting to think I should empty my 401(k) and just enjoy life as much as I can. After all, you can't take it to El Salvador.

During the 2024 campaign, Trump slammed Shapiro as “the highly overrated Jewish Governor of the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”

This. Write your name in the history books on the right side of the ledger.

"Fold to Trump, get a slump" needs to become a commonly used phrase.
