I’m a data guy all the way through, but IMO this seems to forget that specific actions (good sales pitches on innovative policies, effective communication, etc.) by elected officials and political parties can *change* public sentiment.
We’ve spent the last 8 years watching that happen.

probably a stupid question but if she’s saying publicly that she knows the answer, could the judge simply make *her* answer the question on the record?

Since most of these capture information on non-pitchers, would it be fair to say that non-pitchers can be evaluated more reliably than pitchers (at least in a vacuum)?

it’s dumb to even be having this discussion but he played a zillion seasons past his prime because he’s awesome, so citing career averages for him is a bit misleading.

I hate boomer takes cause life legit sucks for gen z in all the ways it did for us and more, but these kids need to learn the kingly feeling of walking out the grocery store with 1.5 lbs of fresh cold cuts and knowing I will eat like a horse for cheap *without* cooking

most likely outcome is they will do the “this has worked in a very limited number of circumstances, we should flood the market with it”
they will then be flabbergasted when that effort fails

but like, wasn’t this pretty close to the intended outcome??
“Give better team home game” is both good/cool and also not going to produce a ton of upsets. that shouldn’t be shocking.
comment in response to

being mad about this is especially dumb since we gave the higher-seeded team a home game… they are supposed to advance, it’s why the playoff was set up this way!

this would be awesome and also would lead to another reformatting where we just go back to the BCS system or something

When did he become like this? I’m not that young but he’s been basically anti-saber for as long as I can remember.

always seemed weird to exclude a select group of players who inherently saw a huge chunk of high-leverage moments, on what mostly amounts to a “not enough volume” argument, when volume was never their job at all.
also, if the hall is a museum, these guys created a ton of the most important moments!
