Polarization is the product of information, not misinformation. The least politically aware now see major differences between the parties at the level that only the most involved did in the 1970s--because the parties have drawn much clearer distinctions onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

People always like to take opinion poll and exit poll results like these and go 'oh the youth are going in X direction' but frankly I think the tendency of young people just to vote against whatever's in power is oft underestimated. The collapse in Green and FDP scores here is a good example of that

saw some discourse on hockey being expensive yesterday and now discourse about the arts being full of posh people today and it reminds me that actually i don't know how one would even construct a system where paid-in-prestige and/or high-investment-high-risk industries aren't dominated by the rich

luigi cheerers are fundamentally a minority they can't see bc they think there is a silent majority against the status quo. this is not true if you pit any particular alternative vision against the status quo bc in fact the status quo benefits a lot of americans.

Hard to describe what it's like being in Kyiv, surrounded by brilliant, unshakeable, brave Ukranians, and reading Trump's comments. The free world deserves a better leader, the hill deserves a better city upon it, and these people deserve better friends.
