I turned on my desktop PC for the first time in 10 months since putting into storage and moving to Paris, and I noticed that it was strangely 5 minutes ahead of the actual time. I wonder why that was? 🤔

I feel like this is horrendous timing, no? Might be a better conversation for when your country isn't potentially getting invaded www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...

I think Tiktok is dead everybody. Post-Trump they're not giving us the freedom of speech that we had prior, even the most basic comments are getting taken down

Honestly, Tiktok might be better without all the loud Americans on there

Any other photographers here on Pixelfed? Would be nice to get a bit of a community going on there, especially with Meta trying to kill it by banning any mention of it on Instagram/Facebook metapixl.com/lashan

Folks are mostly missing the forest for the trees re: the recent Meta announcement. Specifically, the focus on the move from fact checking to community notes. There two different changes that are a much bigger deal that have received less focus. 🧵 1/11

Well, that's one way to cure me of my social media addiction theintercept.com/2025/01/09/f...

Skiing the french alps this past weekend was out of this world. Been a dream of mine to ski the alps proper, with insane landscapes, epic amounts of powder, extremely long runs down the mountain, and "playgrounds" of wide open fields and untouched snow. I got everything I wanted 😄 ❄️

Sunset run today 🌅

Oh no! anyway www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024...

This is a horrifically bad take @theguardian.com. The media is not making #Luigi a hero at all ffs. And if you think the average American sees this is a race issue, then you're either trying to further divide us or you're missing it entirely. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...

It's kinda fascinating if you look at the history of the internet and it starting out with all these disparate decentralised communities (forums), then becoming centralised on huge social media platforms (Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, FB), then it decentralising again but in an interconnected way

I feel like algorithmic social media is causing the decline of society. Meta needs to be pulled into line, because what generates them profit is also the cause of Oxford's word of the year corp.oup.com/news/brain-r...

Strava > Spotify's wrapped this year. No AI garbage. Most I've ever run in a year. Going on 39 days in a row at the moment!

Brexit voters cut off right leg, now majority decided they would like to hit undo on that procedure www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

I mean, what did Macron expect to happen when he gave a solid 🖕🏽 to the election results and appointed a right wing PM www.theguardian.com/world/2024/d...

The wild thing is there's some Koreans out there who were asleep the entire time this happened
