Day to day at http://mastodon.online/@lastnotlost Blogposts at https://lastnotlost.wordpress.com/ Londoner, walks, rides a bicycle, drives a car, often lost. Still no idea what an "eco-caramel coconut latte" is.

This is what reclaiming space looks like: safer, greener, built for people β€” not cars. A big win for the community, especially the hundreds of children who now have a much safer route to school. Credit to Southwark Council for challenging car dominance. Let’s keep pushing for #StreetsForPeople!

1st May'25, desert menu time 🍰 > cycleway #CS3 #CS3Count Victoria Embankment 16,367 cycle journeys recorded so far today (YES, SIXTEEN THOUSAND), 950,062 year to date with some missing days; > #CS6 #CS6Count Blackfriars Road remains offline cc @cs3cs6count.bsky.social

This is a thoughtful detail from Richmond Council. We'll suggest it to Kingston.

"Cyclists dismount" #SGN per usual ignoring London's roadworks guidance as they use the cycle track in Merton High Street to store spoil. Cc @cyclingmerton.bsky.social if you anyone at the council who might care.

If we're not past April and already getting hot-weather related disruption to train lines around London, this is going to be a difficult summer London's Elizabeth Line ("Crossrail") has had a sticky day due to hot rails between Paddington & Heathrow.

SEVENTEEN 'KING THOUSAND 🀯 That's outrageous 😎 bsky.app/profile/cs3c...

February minutes of the City of London's Streets & Walkways sub committee. NFBUK refuses to discuss better designs, their position is simply to ban them. This position will hurt people and help keep the streets objectively dangerous for their members. democracy.cityoflondon.gov.uk/documents/s2...

That's what I'm talking about. Lovely weather, everyone's back to "school" and we're over 900,000! When it was 5700 when I went past at 915 or so this morning I thought we were on for a biggie! Counts 720ishpm. @cs3cs6count.bsky.social

Place your bets on where #CS3Count will finish today .... It will be north of 16,000 cycle journeys along Victoria Embankment #CS3 for the day. Tea time scores courtesy of @highpoh.bsky.social bsky.app/profile/high...

"Please don't use the roads in the parks in large groups, they're difficult to navigate past" Oh, that advice from #TheRoyalCarParks is only for people riding bicycles 🀦 bsky.app/profile/king...

Cars as far as the eye can see in #RichmondPark, at 11am on Sunday. Time for @theroyalparks.bsky.social to promote a Considerate Driving campaign.

LIP allocations. As usual Merton is the cinderella borough. Β£90K for CND, one of the lowest (and AFAIK no physical schemes, only feasibility). Big fat zero for Safer Streets. Failure to bid, failure to deliver. See our analysis here: www.mertoncyclingcampaign.org.uk/2025/04/tfl-...

Journo Bird employed by the #FarageGraph to do this hit job on Carlton has been writing the same anti-cycling, anti-LTN nonsense for the paper for at least 5 years. Some examples from 2020/21/22 attached, before I gave up tracking this rubbish. bsky.app/profile/carl...

Saturday 26 April'25, tea time: > cycleway #CS3 #CS3Count Victoria Embankment 4,567 cycle journeys recorded today, 879,850 year to date with some missing days. Barriers in place for the Marathon on Sunday. > cycleway #CS6 #CS6Count Blackfriars Road, offline since 2nd week of January.

Somewhere in #TfL Towers is a genius who decided this was great way to widen a pavement (into the cycle track) and shorten a pedestrian crossing. Between St Tommy's Hosp and ABC's Library.

The first RTS, on May 14th 1995, saw hundreds of bike riders take over Camden High St. At its height the campaign was drawing thousands, and made it clear weirdo aggressive drivers couldn't have it all their own way. More at www.instagram.com/rtsldn30/

These have appeared in Bushy Park. Glad I run a camera - they were a blur as I hurtled past (/s). Also Parks could put up signs telling motorists to stop for walkers to cross (instead of them waiting for a big gap or a rare kind soul) at e.g. Ham Cross & similar crossing points #doublestandards.

Lots of stats about travel modes in the #CityofLondon, especially in active travel. From the linked CoL report, biggest increases in cycling along: > #C6 #CS6 New Bridge St (Blackfriars) > Gracechurch/ Bishopsgate, north of London Bridge > #C3 #CS3 Upper Thames, Byward Sts bsky.app/profile/will...

One more heave folks, and cycling volumes in the City of London will outnumber motorised vehicles. www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/assets/Servi...

On Tuesday 22 April'25, the #C3 #CS3 counter on Victoria Embankment recorded 13,071 cycle journeys. Damper Wednesday 23rd scores thanks to @highpoh.bsky.social πŸ‘‡ bsky.app/profile/high...

So many cyclists! Fousands of em sir! Counts tonight at about 630 and the lane was ridiculously busy. Awesome.
