The war on our federal government through DOGE isn’t making it more efficient—it’s just inflicting pain on thousands of talented workers and making America less secure and competitive. See our statement from CNL Director Colin Mortimer & Steering Committee Chair @cathy.bsky.social:

I've watched Billions and found that it's depiction of meditation practice says a great deal about the characters, and their pursuit of high performance. Here is a deeper dive into my thoughts on the topic: www.latematinee.com/p/beating-t...

Back to the Future Part II really swung for the fences with its depiction of the future. It does two things: 1. Set the bar enormously high (hoverboards)... 2. ...and enormously low.

The Reddit Answers chatbot is more useful than it has any right to be. Likely because most of my Google searches are for Reddit answers anyway. Google's own AI search responses are too poisoned by SEO optimized garbage.

A way of maximizing adaptable input in the creation and consumption of written content is to combine both analog and digital tools. (1/4)

Despite my love for using habit tracking tools, the key to getting the most value is to measure results. All productivity hacking, that isn't results-driven, is simple navel-gazing.

Has anyone else been diving into Arrow Video 4k releases? I absolutely loved the Warriors release. It's true to the original cut and looks absolutely fantastic!

Anybody else remember catching Route 666 on Sci-Fi? Here's my nostalgic critique of the film. www.latematinee.com/p/the-road-...

The fact that Bluesky requires a bit more effort to optimize is a good thing.

You don't even need to go as far as explaining not everyone who lives in LA is rich. Anyone whose reaction to someone losing their home and all their possession is "well they can afford new ones" is basically just admitting they're a psychopath who only cares about money.

What made Threads so special in the early days was its prioritization of engagement with mutuals in their algorithms.

2024 was a big year for atproto! We've got an update looking back at progress that has been made, and some protocol work in progress. Will have a 2025 roadmap to share soon.

80% of all social media platforms will fall into the pits of enshittfication. The ones that don't are typically: - Unprofitable despite the fanfare - Inaccessible to most users - Not built for scale - Propped up by the profits of another business

Effective habit tracking is a great way to implement accountability for productivity. There are countless tools, including TickTick which make it much easier.

Enshittification is inevitable for any advertiser driven short form platform.

One of the new ideas I've had is being open to putting myself more out there. For awhile I've been inclined to write in isolation. Now, I realized I've missed out on many opportunities to blog and develop as a writer over the years. It's always more fun to put something out there.
