I’m taking some bitter consolation in the fact that bluster and abuse never produces anything good or useful. It can coast on fear and others’ prior accomplishments, for a while, but ultimately only builds its own prisons.

Maybe now. Historically, liberals haven’t really been wired for constant outrage, and now that it’s genuine we mostly talk about ways to give ourselves mental-health breaks.

Is contempt a feeling or an opinion? Bc I came from that culture and don’t bother pretending to respect it.
