All about fighting for climate justice. Happy to nerd out on the clean energy transition, cityscapes for people not cars, and way too many other things. Need an occasional baby animal video for sanity.

Casar: "The only way to push back on this is for Democrats to be really clear that if we win back a majority, we aren't just going to let bygones be bygones. We have to go and investigate who paid Trump, who paid Musk, who made money off of these pardons because that is really serious."

As someone who took the subway every day for, I don't know, 30 years maybe, this honestly pisses me off. Whether it was Philly or NYC or DC, I rode the train every goddamn day. Never a problem. And slandering public trans as the transpo secretary while never having used it yourself is dogshit

Republicans in Congress can’t claim to protect American families while attacking clean energy. Slashing clean energy incentives means higher bills, fewer jobs, and stalled progress. www.mcall.com/2025/05/28/o...

REMINDER: Medicaid recipients are often employed, frequently working multiple jobs. Ripping away health care access for millions to enrich a handful of billionaires is absurd.

So this guy is going to prison, in part, for his Social Security and Medicare tax fraud. Then his mom goes to a $1-million-per-plate Mar-a-Lago fundraiser and three weeks later, poof! A pardon from Trump magically appears.

WATCH: “LIE, LIE, LIE.” @mrjamesob.bsky.social shows the fake marked graves Trump ambushed SA’s prez with were a demonstration by a son for rural farmers of “ALL COLORS” — shreds the @telegraphnews.bsky.social for "One of the single worst examples of journalism I've ever seen in a 🇬🇧 newspaper.”

While I am always looking to work with my Republican colleagues on areas of shared interest, I will NEVER compromise my values.   No matter how much the GOP may try to gaslight us, it’s clear that their budget is immoral. Gutting lifeline programs to give tax breaks to billionaires is deeply wrong.

Republicans are sneaking votes in the middle of the night to slash Medicaid for nearly 14 million Americans. Democrats are standing in solidarity with veterans and people with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Big difference. #HandsOffMedicaid @whipkclark.bsky.social

At 9:00 AM this morning the entire Pentagon got an email inviting them to a “Christian prayer and worship service” from the Office of the Secretary of Defense. A Cabinet member directly violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

The very definition of evil is incarcerating for life in one of the worst hellholes on Earth men who did everything right. But it’s beyond evil—beyond demonic—to then not try to do anything to save the men you consigned to Hell, *and* to in fact libel and slander them daily when they cannot reply.

Is it good for the environment? No But is it at least good for the economy? Also no

Do you have a Dem Senator or two? Call them NOW and tell them to vote NO on the crypto bill tonight, the misleadingly named "Genius Act." I can't believe we have to fight @democrats.senate.gov on a bill enabling massive corruption, especially now. Really... call now. It's very important.

It takes just minutes to read, but I promise it will blow your mind. The Trump-Qatar Scandal is about so much more than a damn plane—and Trump knows it. Even many in major media know it. I cannot explain to you, as a bestselling Trump biographer, why so many in D.C. are hiding what all of us know.

Sure, let’s dissect the mental and physical acuity of the former president who sought to make lives in America better while minimizing the reality of a deranged arsonist dismantling the country we’ve known and loved. What a failure to meet this moment.

This is a great listen for anyone concerned about climate, interested in new energy tech, or attracted like a moth to a lightbulb to the idea of a hydrogen economy. Really great stuff!

If you have anyone in your circle that thinks hydrogen, or nuclear, are the best use of public funds to fix pressing energy and carbon problems, please, please, please, get them to listen to this -> @volts.wtf @joeromm.bsky.social www.volts.wtf/p/taming-the...

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them. Via @usa.streetsblog.org @nyc.streetsblog.org

It's more than a bit ironic, and unsettling, that the news media is focusing right now on whether and how they under-emphasized the mental decline of Joe Biden last year, while they are completely ignoring a lot of red flags about the mental acuity of the CURRENT President.

BREAKING: Moody’s has DOWNGRADED the United States’ credit rating from Aaa to Aa1 — the first-ever U.S. credit downgrade in the agency’s history. “We do not believe that material multi-year reductions in mandatory spending and deficits will result from current fiscal proposals under consideration.”

As we endure a presidency that is definitionally one massive scam, it's up to Democrats to finally decide which manipulation and cruelty are intolerable.

read this please www.nytimes.com/2025/05/13/o...

Paris cut air pollution by 50% in 17 years. How? By adding 680 miles of bike lanes and banning cars on 100 streets. This is my formal request for more bike lanes in NYC please! 🚲

So many layers of corruption.

Chris Murphy: "Let's be clear what this trip is all about. This is President Trump's corruption tour of the Middle East. He is going to the gulf to collect tribute. What's happening here is an extraordinary level of corruption. We shouldn't pretend this is business as usual."

“In the first three months, the Trump family has become $3 billion wealthier, so that’s a billion dollars a month.”

"Under the annual appropriations act, lawmakers are permitted to enter 'any facility operated by or for DHS used to detain or otherwise house aliens.' The law is clear that members of Congress are not required 'to provide prior notice of intent to enter a facility'..." www.cnn.com/2025/05/10/p...

Call me crazy but I don't think we should spend 92 million dollars on a military parade honoring a draft dodger while a single veteran needs healthcare, food, or housing that they can't afford. Tell Congress if you agree:

Masked ICE agents = 2025's brown shirts. None of this is ok

The reality of Hawaii's tourist climate tax: it won't add much at all to the cost of your stay (less than 1%) and it will help Hawaii address climate impacts. The best protection is rapidly reduced emissions - Hawaii's natural treasure is under threat for sure. open.substack.com/pub/heated/p...

Paul Krugman out here spitting one of the most facty of facts of Trump II:

I  know your goal is to try to make life as hard as possible for immigrants.

One important part of this is to get the risks that Noem is ignoring--like Chinese and Russian hacking--on the record.

If this is true, it's a shameful case of Senate Dems again throwing out *REAL* leverage in exchange for fake concessions. "Actually, genuinely oppose the bill that would enable Trump to hoover up billions of dollars in crypto cash" is the lowest bar imaginable for Dems. Why can't they clear it?

We're hearing rumors that Ds have worked out a deal to allow a cloture vote (ie, give up their leverage to stop the bill) in exchange for a vote on an amendment (which will fail). That's not acceptable. We need real opposition to Trump's corruption, not procedural gimmicks. Call your Senators now:

“Small acts of acquiescence, framed as…defensive measures, feel like the only reasonable course. But this is the fatal logic of appeasement: the belief that quietly yielding in small, seemingly temporary ways will mitigate long-term harm.”

Horsey

🔥 @rephuffman.bsky.social clowns House Republicans for their ‘Gulf of America’ bill

California lawmakers are considering a bill that would renege on decades of commitments to customers who’ve installed solar panels on their homes — all to shrink only a tiny fraction of the utility costs that are driving electricity rates through the roof. 🔌💡 www.canarymedia.com/articles/sol...

The wild thing is that even appliance manufacturers don't want EnergyStar canceled. They want predictable regulatory environments and healthy competition to make stuff people actually like, not a race to the bottom. All this does is own the libs? and make a bit more $ for companies that sell energy.

Again, I’m going to keep yelling at clouds that this violates all kinds of treaty obligations that are also part of US law & requires immediate impeachment & removal bsky.app/profile/mcop...

Residential energy rates in California are nearly double the national average. The real driver isn’t rooftop solar; it’s utility mismanagement and unchecked profit-taking

Nothing is too low for these people

In space, Venus flanks Earth on the left, with a hellfire greenhouse effect. Mars on the right, which long ago had running water. Today, it's bone dry. Something bad happened on each planet. Seems like the wrong time to limit the Nation’s capacity to conduct climate research.

We really should be paying attention to this - Trump has been on (at least) the edges of this for decades. Shame on us for not shutting him down all those decades ago..
