If you're using substack and linking to it, everyone else hears it as you going "hey guys check out this cool Nazi bar I hang out in" It turns out telling people you hang out in a Nazi bar is not a very effective way of advertising yourself.

We just launched a 16TB archive of every dataset that has been available on data.gov since November. This will be updated day by day as new datasets appear. It can be freely copied, and we're sharing the code behind it to help others make their own archives of data they depend on.

Dull, overwhelming gray covering it all is a perfect metaphor for the bigger picture. This photograph was taken two days ago at the FBI Academy in Quantico and submitted to the NYT under the condition of anonymity. If a picture is usually worth a thousand words, this one is worth millions.
