Economic security and national security are intertwined. By declaring a an ill-considered trade war on allies and adversaries alike, Trump is undermining the delicate balance of trade. Iā€™d like to see UK, EU, Canada, Australia and NZ be more ambitious. Carney, Merz and Macron are leading the way.

This is scary. Being ā€˜disappearedā€™ to an El Salvador prison without ANY due process is cruel and unjust. 75% of these men have no criminal record and several were cases of mistaken identity. Kristi Noem is using this to send a signalā€¦ itā€™s a slippery slope, America. youtu.be/_QmW99SqBuw?...

Stop trying to explain Trumpā€™s strategy on tariffs. Itā€™s just a power play. Trump is giving himself ā€œcardsā€ so that individuals, oligarchs, companies, states and countries will ā€˜kiss the ringā€™ and give some pro quo for tariff relief. Creating a global kleptocracy and system of patronage.

Loved this quote from an economist from JP Morgan: "The stock market cannot be bullied, intimidated, deported, 'primaried' in the next election, or otherwise censored...." So the stock and bond markets are serving as "the adults in the room"! :)

After seeing $6.6 trillion in stock market value wiped out, Trump walked back his erratic tariff policy with a "90-day pause" and implemented 10% global tariffs, 25% auto, and 25% aluminium/ steel... except China. China retaliated from 34% to 84% tariffs and Trump doubled down with 125% tariffs.

Our goal is to bring manufacturing jobs back to America! So let's be patient with Trump's trade war with Asia. With short-term sacrifice, our children could have this to look forward to - the good old days of textile manufacturing in the USA!!! Make America Great Again! youtu.be/9ozRXax8wTo?...

Hardest hit markets are the US and Japan (-18%) and the least hit is China (-4%). Thatā€™s partly because China is not nearly as reliant upon the US as the US is reliant upon China. China has 1.3B population that doesnā€™t need to buy US goods. So China has an advantage in a trade war.

The stock market is the only thing willing to speak truth to power. šŸ¤” Next weā€™ll see inflation rise, global demand / GDP decline, profit margins squeezed, and jobs eliminatedā€¦ ultimately stagflation.

Is Joe Rogan turning on Trump? Rogan (with 70M subscribers) was a major supporter in the ā€˜manosphereā€™, yet even Rogan finds snatching men off the street and shipping them to El Salvador without any due process (not even a single phone call to the spouse)ā€¦ to be un-American. youtu.be/dBehCSOMhgY

10% Tariffs on the Heard & McDonald Islands (which are only inhabited by Penguins)!

Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"

"Russia shares a land border with 14 countries. Only one has constantly remained an independent democracy through WWII and Cold War, and that is Finland. History has taught us that Russia respects only strength, and resolve."

Crawford: Today, Wisconsinites fended off an unprecedented attack on our democracy, our fair elections, and our Supreme Court.. Wisconsin stood up and said that justice does not have a price, our courts are not for sale

A way to interpret Trumpā€™s weird submissiveness toward Elon is his belief Elon engineered voting machine fraud in the 2024 swing states. Youā€™ll catch traces of this when Trump references Elonā€™s influence on the campaign. But if Elon lost, of all things, a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat? Hmmmā€¦

šŸ’Æ Couldnā€™t agree more! This comes 68 years after Strom Thurmondā€™s shameful record filibuster of 24 hours and 18 minutes in protest of the civil rights legislation in 1957. Delighted it was Cory Booker who beat this record!!! šŸ’™

Randy Fine (R) won the special election in Floridaā€™s 6th district vs Josh Weil (D), 54% to 46%. This seat was vacated by Mike Waltz, now Trumpā€™s national security adviser. Fineā€™s 8-point margin was notably narrower than Waltzā€™s previous 33-point win, despite the districtā€™s deep Republican leanings.

CNN has just called the Wisconsin Supreme Court election for Susan Crawford (liberal) 55.9% over Brad Schimel (cons) 44.1%.šŸ„‚ This race broke records for spending and voter turnout and became a proxy fight for the nationā€™s political battles. Trump backed Schimel, with Musk handing out $1M checks.

If Trump can run for a third term, can we have Obama run against him? Thank would be fun! šŸ˜œ

Wow, the US Fed is now expecting a nosedive in GDP: 8 weeks ago it was +3.9% 4 weeks ago it was 2.3% Last week it was -2.8% Today it stands at -3.7% Trump is driving the US into recession.

Itā€™s telling that countries SEEK to join the EU and NATO (resulting in expansion of both)ā€¦ while Putin must resort to coercive tactics and military invasion to expand. Perhaps Putin should make it more appealing to join the Russian family?

Did you know that BlueSky started as a project at Twitter under Jack Dorsey with a vision to transforming the platform into an open protocol of the future? The idea is to give ownership and control to the user and enable customisation and portability. www.youtube.com/live/B7OwcXC...

How long can the MAGA crowd continue pointing the fingers of blame at the ā€œdeep stateā€ā€¦ until they realise that they ARE the ā€œdeep stateā€™?

Wow! Investors are shifting funds from US equities into European equities at the highest rate since 1999! This is driven partly from an expected increase in EU defense spending from 1.9% to 3%. And due to Trumpā€™s hostile posturing, EU will manufacture domestically rather than contracting with US.
