O Canada. A Longwoods International poll of 1,000 Canadians found 60% are less likely to travel to the US this year. More than one-third said they had actually canceled plans to travel to the US in the next year. The fallout continues. #travel

Inbound travel continues to dip. According to US Travel, land visits from Canada are down 26% year over year; air down 15%. European travel is down 17%. Expect larger declines during the prime summer months. Why it matters: Every one percent drop in international travel=$1.8 billion in lost revenue.

And now the CDC's cruise ship inspectors are being put out to pasture. Expect a lot more disease outbreaks on these ships, which can be cesspools of germs.

C'mon BlueSky peeps. Cory Booker is on Hour 21 and his name is misspelled on Trending Topics? Respect, people. Spell his name, spell his name C-O-R-Y.

Flight bookings between Canada & the U.S. have collapsed. Advanced bookings between the countries plummeted more than 70% for the summer, according to OAG. Considering Canadians make up the largest share of our international client base, this will have major impact on the #travel industry.

If you're trying to watch something other than news, I recommend my favorite Netflix series. It will take a search to find the Norwegian drama #Occupied ..but it's worth the effort. Synopsis: Norway is taken over by Russia, trickle by trickle...Lots of parallels to what's happening here.

Canadians made more than 20 million visits to the US in 2024, accounting for $20.5 billion in spending, according to the U.S. Travel Association. The loss of tourism from our northern neighbors will have huge impact in snowbird states like Florida & border states like Maine, Michigan & NY. #travel

This is hardly a surprise. Happiness largely equates to factors like trust, contentment, and a feeling of safety, and we have little of the above in this country, especially now. #wellness #happiness @semafor.com
